Need coloured bath resurfacing in Wheelock?

Repair or replace: which is better?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one involves a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Refinishing it in white changes the colour without taking anything out. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. You will see the full price before booking, with nothing added on the day.

Why Wheelock clients choose us

  • Repair technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • Colour-matched on site
  • One price list for the whole UK
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish

Coloured bath resurfacing at your home in Wheelock

Most suites take one or two days. Everything is resurfaced where it stands, with no new plumbing or tiling. Typical jobs include a dated coloured suite you’d like in white and a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom, across avocado, pampas and pink baths, coloured shower trays and whole bathroom suites.

All our work comes with our one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Cheshire East. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

The process

Your technician turns up at the time we agreed with you, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your photos first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before we open a single tin. Most visits take one to two days for a full suite, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray on the new finish in white or your chosen colour.
  5. We leave everything to cure, typically until the day after.

Preparing for the visit

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

Advice

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £350. Prices are worked out job by job, from your pictures. The main factors are:

  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • How hard the colour is to match

Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.

How to get a fixed quote

When you take your pictures, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • Something in shot to show the size

Upload a photo of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, and tell us you’re in Wheelock, and we will come back with a fixed quote.

What we cannot put right

Not everything can be repaired, and we would rather say so up front. Repairs won’t solve:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

Surfaces we repair

  • Coloured shower trays
  • Coloured basins
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Whole bathroom suites

Wheelock questions

Do you cover the whole of Cheshire East?

All of Cheshire East, and the rest of the UK. There is no extra charge for travel.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Yes, regularly. Removing the old work can add time, and that’s in the quote.

Can you do the toilet too?

Talk to us first. A toilet bowl is constantly wet, so we will advise honestly before quoting.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

We’ll show you and explain before doing anything extra. You will not be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

Can tenants book a repair?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes, and it’s frequently cheaper. Send pictures of everything together and you will get one combined price.

What happens next?

You will get a fixed quote back, typically with dates to choose from. You’re under no obligation.

Will it make a mess?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.

When to call us in Wheelock

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. The problem is typically the colour, not the bath.

The things clients normally mention when they call are:

  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite

Comparing quotes

  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
  • What preparation is included
  • What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show

Work for landlords and builders

We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, pictures and access details.

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, so there’s no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. Several plots can be done in one visit.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
