Coloured bath resurfacing near Whiston

Should you replace it?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one involves a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Refinishing it in white turns it white without taking anything out. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. A repair normally costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send photos and we’ll give you the exact figure.

Why Whiston clients choose us

  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • Colour mixed on the day to match
  • A year’s guarantee on all work

How we handle coloured bath resurfacing in Whiston

We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, so there is no plumbing or tiling. A full suite is normally done in one to two days. Common call-outs are for faded or patchy colour and a dated coloured suite you’d like in white, in avocado, pampas and pink baths, coloured basins and coloured shower trays.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we’ll come back. Look after the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

What we do, step by step

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive at the agreed slot, protect everything around the work area, do the job and tidy away. Plan for a day or two, depending on how many items from start to finish. Before we go, we’ll explain when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. Once cured, normally by the day after, the suite is ready.

Before we arrive

  • Ensure the area is dry
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area

Advice

Honest limits

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly.

Materials we repair

  • Coloured basins
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Whole bathroom suites

Prices and what affects them

Resurfacing from £350. A fixed quote means you know the cost before you book. We look at:

  • The material and finish
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Access to the area
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear

Compared with replacing, repairing normally costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

How to get a fixed quote

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Try to send:

  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • One picture of the entire suite
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area

You don’t need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

Whiston questions

Can you quote from pictures?

In nearly every case. If photos do not show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.

When can you do it?

Your quote comes with available dates. If it’s urgent, say so and we’ll do what we can.

Can pets and children be at home?

Just keep them out of the work area. We will tell you when the room can be used again.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes, and it’s often cheaper. Send pictures of everything together and you will get one combined price.

Can a coloured bath be made white?

Yes. It’s resurfaced in white where it stands.

Do I have to be there?

We need someone to let us in. You do not need to watch us work.

Do you cover the whole of Rotherham?

All of Rotherham, and the rest of the UK. There’s no extra charge for travel.

Can landlords book you?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders.

Landlord and trade work in Whiston

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, so there is no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. Several plots can be done in one visit to keep costs down.

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access and we’ll handle the rest.

Do you need coloured bath resurfacing in Whiston?

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and many are still sound. The problem is usually the colour, not the bath.

Send us a photo if you notice any of these:

  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom

Before you book anyone

  • How your room will be protected
  • Aftercare advice
  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • Whether they match the colour on site

Choosing a repair company

Should I try a DIY kit first?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
