Should you replace it?

Swapping a damaged board can mean lifting the floor back to it, sourcing a matching board and laying it all again. A repair leaves the floor down. Prices start from £95. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed quote from your pictures, so you know the cost before booking.

Wood floor repair in Craigens, done in place

Boards are repaired where they lie, matched to the colour and grain. Laminate swollen by water can’t be repaired, and we’ll be honest about that. Our repair technicians work on laminate flooring, solid wood and wood-effect vinyl (ask us), and people most frequently call us about dents from dropped items and burns.

Every job is backed for twelve months in Craigens and everywhere else. We return to put right any problem with the work. Use felt pads under furniture and wipe up spills promptly.

Can I fix it myself?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.

Yes, we do. We send a technician to Craigens for every job, with no extra charge for travel.

Is there a call-out fee?

We do not add a call-out fee. Your fixed price includes everything.

Which areas do you work in?

We cover the entire UK, including Craigens and the rest of East Ayrshire. Send your postcode with your photos and we’ll confirm dates.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes, and it’s often cheaper. Send pictures of everything together and you’ll get one combined price.

How the visit works

The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can carry on at home. Protection goes down first, then the job itself takes a few hours. Before we leave, we explain the curing time and the aftercare.

  1. We start by cleaning the damage.
  2. Dents, chips and gouges are filled.
  3. We level the repair to the board surface.
  4. We match the colour and grain by hand.
  5. Finally we match the sheen of the floor.

Preparing for the visit

  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Keep a parking space free if you can

Landlord and trade work in Craigens

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, fixing chips and scratches before handover so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

What affects the price in Craigens

Repairs from £95. A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We take into account:

  • Access to the area
  • How many areas need work
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Doing more than one item at once

No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Quotes from your pictures

You can take the photos on your phone. Make sure they show:

  • Details of any past repairs
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • A photo taken from further back

For most jobs, pictures are all we need to give you a price. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.
