Wood floor repair in Glyn-coed

Wood floor repair in Glyn-coed, done in place

We repair damaged boards in place, matched to the colour and grain. Water-swollen laminate needs replacing, and we will be honest about that. Our repair technicians work on wood-effect vinyl (ask us), solid wood and laminate flooring, and people most often call us about dents from dropped items and gouges from moving appliances.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. We return to put right any problem with the work. Put felt pads on furniture legs and wipe spills straight away.

How we price wood floor repair

Prices start from £95. Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • The type of damage
  • The colour and finish to match
  • How much damage there is

What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed quote from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Getting a price from photos

We price nearly every job from photos. This is what we need:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings

Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them over with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed quote back. Quotes are free and no obligation.

Should you replace it?

Replacing a board frequently means lifting boards to reach it, finding a board that matches and relaying. Repairing it leaves the floor down. Our wood floor repair starts from £95. We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Glyn-coed. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Why book with us

FAQs for Glyn-coed

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Typically, yes. Clear photos let us give you a fixed price without visiting.

Are you accredited?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Can you repair something that is been repaired before?

Normally, yes. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so mention it when you send photos.

What do you need from me?

Some photos, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, access to the room.

When can you do it?

Your quote comes with available dates. If it’s urgent, say so and we’ll do what we can.

Is there a call-out fee?

No. Our quotes include travel, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we are working in. We’ll tell you when the room can be used again.

Before you book, it’s worth knowing the limits:

Our hiring checklist

Work for landlords and builders

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Glyn-coed use us as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.

Letting agents often send us pictures straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

How it works

You don’t need to empty the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and get going once we have agreed what we’re doing. It normally takes a morning or an afternoon, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. First the damaged area is cleaned.
  2. Next we fill the dents and chips.
  3. We level the repair to the board surface.
  4. The colour and grain are recreated by hand.
  5. Finally we match the sheen of the floor.

How to prepare

  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work

Getting a price

Should I try a DIY kit first?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair won’t last.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
