Trusted wood floor repair in Inverkeilor

Wood floor repair at your home in Inverkeilor

Boards are repaired where they lie, matched to the colour and grain. Laminate swollen by water can’t be repaired, and we will tell you if that’s the case. We’re often asked to fix dents from dropped items and burns, on wood-effect vinyl (ask us), laminate flooring and solid wood.

We guarantee the work for a year. If there’s a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it. Use felt pads under furniture and wipe spills straight away.

Questions from Inverkeilor

Do you hold any accreditations?

We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Is there a call-out fee?

We do not add a call-out fee. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.

Do the materials smell?

There may be a mild smell during the work.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Yes, almost always. Clear pictures let us give you a fixed price without visiting.

Do you cover the whole of Angus?

The whole UK, including all of Angus. Just include your postcode and we’ll confirm dates.

Does the room need clearing?

Only from the area we are working on.

What do you need from me?

Photos of the damage, a picture of the entire floor and your postcode. Then we’ll agree a date.

What wood floor repair costs

Prices start from £95. We give every job a fixed quote from pictures. This is what makes a difference:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • The colour and finish to match
  • The material and finish
  • How many areas need work

Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Quotes from your pictures

Two or three clear pictures are generally enough. It helps if you send:

  • One picture of the entire floor
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Any details about the material
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before

There’s no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a board often means lifting boards to reach it, sourcing a matching board and laying it all again. Repairing it leaves the floor down. Our wood floor repair starts from £95. We do not add extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

The process

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive on time, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and clear up. Allow a morning or an afternoon from start to finish. Before leaving, we tell you how long to leave it and how to look after it.

  1. First the damaged area is cleaned.
  2. We fill dents, chips and gouges.
  3. The repair is levelled to the board.
  4. We match the colour and grain by hand.
  5. We finish the repair to match the sheen of the floor.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing

Should I try a DIY kit first?

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.
