Wood floor repair in Lea

Honest limits

A repair is not always the answer, and we’d rather say so up front. Repairs will not solve:

  • Laminate swollen along the joints by water
  • Boards that have lifted or warped
  • Underfloor damage

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

What we work on

  • Laminate flooring
  • Engineered wood
  • Solid wood
  • Wood-effect vinyl (ask us)

Wood floor repair in Lea without replacing anything

We repair damaged boards in place, matched to the colour and grain. Water-swollen laminate needs replacing, and we’ll be honest about that. Our technicians work on engineered wood, solid wood and wood-effect vinyl (ask us), and the jobs we see most are gouges from moving appliances and dents from dropped items.

Every repair is covered by our one-year guarantee. Use felt pads under furniture and wipe spills right away.

Repair or replace in Lea?

Replacing a board frequently means lifting boards to reach it, finding a board that matches and laying it all again. Repairing it leaves the floor down. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

How it works

When we visit, we arrive at the time we have agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. Expect it to take a morning or an afternoon. We tidy up before we leave and let you know when you can use it again.

  1. First the damaged area is cleaned.
  2. Dents, chips and gouges are filled.
  3. We sand the repair flush with the board.
  4. We recreate the colour and grain by hand.
  5. The repair is finished to match the floor’s sheen.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Ensure the area is dry
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing

Advice

Should I try a DIY kit first?

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

What wood floor repair costs

Prices start from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including Lea. What changes the price is:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • How many areas need work

What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

Send photos for a quote

You can take the pictures on your phone. Just make sure we can see:

  • One picture of the entire floor
  • The material, if you know it
  • Details of any past repairs
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

You do not need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

Letting agents often send us pictures straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

Lea: your questions answered

Which areas do you work in?

Everywhere in the UK, Lea included. Travel is included in the price.

Do I need to be at home?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. You do not need to watch us work.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Usually, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Of course, and it usually saves money. Send pictures of everything together and you’ll get one combined price.

Will there be a smell?

Expect a mild smell while we are working, which fades afterwards.

Will the price change on the day?

We will show you and explain before doing anything extra. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?

Generally, yes. Let us know what was used before.
