Wood floor repair near Lower Langford

Wood floor repair in Lower Langford without replacing anything

Boards are repaired where they lie, matched to the colour and grain. Laminate swollen by water can’t be repaired, and we’ll be honest about that. We regularly repair solid wood, wood-effect vinyl (ask us) and engineered wood, and common reasons people contact us are chipped board edges and scratches from furniture and pets.

You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we will come back. Use felt pads under furniture and wipe up spills promptly.

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. Prices are worked out job by job. What matters most is:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • What the surface is made of
  • How much damage there is
  • Doing more than one item at once

There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Quotes from your photos

We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what to send:

  • Details of any past repairs
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • One picture of the whole floor
  • The material, if you know it

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the whole floor, include your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

What we are called out for in Lower Langford

Furniture, pets and dropped items scratch and dent wood and laminate, and sliding appliances can gouge the boards.

You may need us if you’ve spotted:

  • Dents from dropped items
  • Chipped board edges
  • Burns
  • Gouges from moving appliances

Work for landlords and builders

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Bath and North East Somerset and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

What happens on the day

We work cleanly and quietly, so you can carry on at home. We protect the area first, then the job itself takes a few hours. Before we leave, we explain how soon it can be used and how to look after it.

  1. First the damaged area is cleaned.
  2. Next we fill the dents and chips.
  3. The repair is levelled to the board.
  4. The colour and grain are recreated by hand.
  5. We finish the repair to match the sheen of the floor.

How to prepare

  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area

Honest limits

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • Laminate swollen along the joints by water
  • Boards that have lifted or warped
  • Underfloor damage

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly.

What we work on

  • Engineered wood
  • Solid wood
  • Laminate flooring
  • Wood-effect vinyl (ask us)

Should I try a DIY kit first?

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.
