Wood floor repair for Lydgate homes

Wood floor repair at your home in Lydgate

Boards are repaired where they lie, matched to the colour and grain. Water-swollen laminate needs replacing, and we’ll tell you if that is the case. We work on laminate flooring, engineered wood and wood-effect vinyl (ask us), and people most often call us about chipped board edges and dents from dropped items.

You are covered after we leave: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we explain what it covers before you book. Use felt pads under furniture and wipe spills straight away.

FAQs for Lydgate

What does wood floor repair cost?

Repairs from £95. The exact price depends on the damage, so we quote from photos. You’ll get a fixed figure before you book.

Can tenants book a repair?

Of course. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

When can you do it?

That depends on our diary for your area. We’ll offer you dates when we send your quote.

Will you leave a mess?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and we clean up when we’ve finished.

Can you price it without visiting?

Normally, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes, and it’s often cheaper. Just add the extra items to your photos and you’ll get one combined price.

Does the room need clearing?

Just around the damaged area.

Are you accredited?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

What affects the price in Lydgate

Prices start from £95. We don’t charge extra for travel to Lydgate. The price comes down to:

  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • The material
  • Whether we combine several jobs

Instead of hourly rates, we price the whole job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Send photos for a quote

Most quotes are done from pictures alone. To help us price it:

  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

For most jobs, photos are all we need to give you a price. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we will reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

What a repair can’t fix

In fairness, there are a few things a repair won’t fix:

  • Laminate swollen along the joints by water
  • Boards that have lifted or warped
  • Underfloor damage

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think before you book.

Surfaces we repair

  • Engineered wood
  • Solid wood
  • Laminate flooring
  • Wood-effect vinyl (ask us)

Landlord and trade work in Lydgate

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Send the address, pictures and access details and we will arrange it.

Common problems we fix in Lydgate

Furniture, pets and dropped items scratch and dent wood and laminate, and sliding appliances can gouge the boards.

Keep an eye out for any of the following:

  • Scratches from furniture and pets
  • Chipped board edges
  • Gouges from moving appliances
  • Burns

What to look for in a quote

  • How your room will be protected
  • Who turns up on the day
  • The length of the guarantee and what it covers
  • Whether the price covers travel

Advice

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

Repairing versus replacing in Lydgate

Swapping a damaged board can mean lifting the floor back to it, finding a board that matches and laying it all again. Repairing it works with the boards in place. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. We do not add extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Why us?

  • Honest advice, even when it means no job
