Wood floor repair in Mossgate without replacing anything
Water-swollen laminate needs replacing, and we will be honest about that. Boards are repaired where they lie, matched to the colour and grain. Typical jobs include gouges from moving appliances and chipped board edges, in laminate flooring, wood-effect vinyl (ask us) and solid wood.
Every job is backed for twelve months. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back. Put felt pads on furniture legs and wipe spills straight away.

Why repair rather than replace?
Replacing a board frequently means lifting boards to reach it, finding a board that matches and laying it all again. A repair leaves the floor down. Our wood floor repair starts from £95. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
Why book with us

When a repair isn’t the answer
Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair won’t do:
- Laminate swollen along the joints by water
- Boards that have lifted or warped
- Underfloor damage
Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly.
Surfaces we repair
- Solid wood
- Laminate flooring
- Engineered wood
- Wood-effect vinyl (ask us)
DIY kit or professional repair?
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.
If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
How we price wood floor repair
Prices start from £95. We do not charge extra for travel to Mossgate. The price depends on:
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- What the surface is made of
- How much damage there is
- How hard the colour is to match
The price depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed quote from your pictures, so you know the cost before you book.
How to get a fixed quote
The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:
- Where you are, by postcode
- Natural light rather than flash
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- Details of any past repairs
You don’t need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.
When to call us in Mossgate

Your questions about wood floor repair in Mossgate
How quickly can you book me in?
That depends on our diary for your area. We’ll offer you dates when we send your quote.
What areas do you cover?
All of Staffordshire, and the rest of the UK. There is no extra charge for travel.
What do you need from me?
Some pictures, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, access to the room.
Is a repair better than a new one?
In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it isn’t worth repairing, we will tell you.
Is the work guaranteed?
Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.
Can I add another job to the visit?
Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include photos of each item.
What if the damage is worse than the photos show?
The price is fixed for what the pictures show. If there is more, we’ll tell you before starting.
Do the materials smell?
Some materials have a smell while they’re applied, so we ventilate the room. It clears as the materials cure.
The process
Here’s how a visit generally runs: we arrive on time, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and clear up. Plan for a morning or an afternoon from start to finish. Before we go, we will explain how long to leave it and what to avoid for the first few days.
- First the damaged area is cleaned.
- We fill dents, chips and gouges.
- The repair is levelled to the board.
- We recreate the colour and grain by hand.
- Finally we match the sheen of the floor.
Preparing for the visit
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
- Ensure the area is dry
Getting a price
