About our wood floor repair in Oakwood
We repair damaged boards in place, matched to the colour and grain. Laminate swollen by water can’t be repaired, and we’ll be honest about that. Whether it’s chipped board edges and scratches from furniture and pets, we can help, on solid wood, engineered wood and wood-effect vinyl (ask us) alike.
You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Oakwood as everywhere else we work. Put felt pads on furniture legs and wipe spills right away.

Should you replace it?
Swapping a damaged board frequently means lifting boards to reach it, sourcing a matching board and relaying. Repairing it leaves the floor down. Prices start from £95. The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before you book, with nothing added on the day.

DIY kit or professional repair?
If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

Oakwood questions
Are there extra charges for Oakwood?
There is no separate call-out charge. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.
Do I have to be there?
Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time we agree with you.
Does the room need clearing?
Just around the damaged area.
Can tenants book a repair?
Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged before the end of a tenancy.
Can I add another job to the visit?
Yes. Doing several items on one visit usually costs less than separate visits. Include photos of each item.
What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?
We will show you and explain before doing anything extra. You will not be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.
Are you accredited?
We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.
Is it OK to have pets in the house?
On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children.
Prices and what affects them
Repairs from £95. We don’t charge extra for travel to Oakwood. The price depends on:
- The type of damage
- How much damage there is
- Whether we combine several jobs
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.
Getting a price from pictures
Phone pictures are fine, there is no need for anything special. Just ensure we can see:
- Natural light rather than flash
- What it’s made of, if you know
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- Where you are, by postcode
For a price in Oakwood, photos are the quickest way: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.
How the visit works
On the day itself, there is little for you to do. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we will get on with it. The job generally runs to a few hours.
- First the damaged area is cleaned.
- We fill dents, chips and gouges.
- We level the repair to the board surface.
- The colour and grain are recreated by hand.
- Finally we match the sheen of the floor.
Getting ready for the visit
- Make sure the area is dry
- Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
Ask for a price
Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the whole floor, we can price the job without visiting.
