How we price wood floor repair
Prices start from £95. You won’t pay by the hour. The price depends on:
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
- How many areas need work
- How hard the colour is to match
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before you book, with no extras added later.
Quotes from your pictures
Photographing the damage takes a minute. Please include:
- Natural light rather than flash
- Any details about the material
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
Most clients in Pensby get their price from photos. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we will send back a fixed quote and some dates.
Wood floor repair in Pensby without replacing anything
Boards are repaired where they lie, matched to the colour and grain. Laminate swollen by water cannot be repaired, and we will be honest about that. Common call-outs are for burns and scratches from furniture and pets, on laminate flooring, wood-effect vinyl (ask us) and engineered wood.
We guarantee the work for a year. If something is not right in that time, we come back and put it right. Put felt pads on furniture legs and wipe spills right away.

Repair or replace: which is better?
Swapping a damaged board can mean lifting the floor back to it, finding a board that matches and relaying. Repairing it leaves the floor down. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Rather than charging by the hour, we price the whole job up front. Damage, material and access decide it.

Your questions about wood floor repair in Pensby
Can you redo someone else’s repair?
Usually, yes. We remove the old repair before doing a new one.
What information do you need?
Send pictures through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787.
Is there a guarantee?
Yes, for a year. If there is a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.
Can you quote from pictures?
Yes, almost always. Clear pictures let us give you a fixed price without visiting.
Are you a vetted contractor?
We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.
Can you repair a scratched laminate floor?
Yes. Scratches and chips are filled and matched to the pattern.
What happens if you find more damage?
It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. The price only changes if you agree.
Will there be a smell?
It depends on the job, but frequently a little. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum.
What a repair cannot fix
We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair cannot fix:
- Laminate swollen along the joints by water
- Boards that have lifted or warped
- Underfloor damage
Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.
Surfaces we repair
- Engineered wood
- Wood-effect vinyl (ask us)
- Solid wood
- Laminate flooring
DIY kit or professional repair?
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.
The process
Once we’re through the door, we keep the work contained to the one room. We mask off everything nearby, the job takes a morning or an afternoon, depending on what we find, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.
- We start by cleaning the damage.
- Dents, chips and gouges are filled.
- We sand the repair flush with the board.
- We match the colour and grain by hand.
- We finish the repair to match the sheen of the floor.
Getting ready for the visit
- Have a window or extractor fan available
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
- Make sure the area is dry
Getting a price
No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through.
