Trusted wood floor repair in Rift House

Wood floor repair in Rift House, done in place

Boards are repaired where they lie, with the colour and grain matched by hand. Water-swollen laminate needs replacing, and we’ll tell you if that is the case. Our technicians work on solid wood, wood-effect vinyl (ask us) and laminate flooring, and the jobs we see most are gouges from moving appliances and chipped board edges.

Big or small, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee. Use felt pads under furniture and wipe spills straight away.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:

  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Access to the area
  • The material and finish

There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Send pictures for a quote

Photographing the damage takes a minute. Please include:

  • Where you are, by postcode
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the whole floor, include your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

Rift House questions

How soon can you come?

That depends on our diary for your area. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.

Do you cover Rift House?

Yes, we do. Technicians travel to Rift House from across the region, with no extra charge for travel.

Is a repair better than a new one?

In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it isn’t worth repairing, we will tell you.

Can pets and children be at home?

Just keep them out of the work area. We’ll tell you when the room can be used again.

Can you repair several things at once?

Of course, and it typically saves money. Send pictures of everything together and we’ll quote them together.

Does the room need clearing?

Only from the area we’re working on.

Will you leave a mess?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and we clean up when we have finished.

Is there any odour?

There can be some smell while we work, which is why we ventilate. It fades as everything cures.

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a board can mean lifting the floor back to it, sourcing a matching board and relaying. Repairing it works with the boards in place. Prices start from £95. The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. You will see the full price before you book, with no extras added later.

Why Rift House clients choose us

What happens on the day

Your technician turns up at the time we agreed with you and checks the damage against your photos first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before any work starts. Most visits take a morning or an afternoon, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. First the damaged area is cleaned.
  2. Dents, chips and gouges are filled.
  3. We sand the repair flush with the board.
  4. The colour and grain are recreated by hand.
  5. Finally we match the sheen of the floor.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Make sure the area is dry
  • Let us know which floor the room is on

Getting a price

There is no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.
