Our hiring checklist

Wood floor repair in Riverside without replacing anything

Boards are repaired where they lie, matched to the colour and grain. Laminate swollen by water can’t be repaired, and we’ll be honest about that. We regularly repair wood-effect vinyl (ask us), laminate flooring and solid wood, and people most frequently call us about gouges from moving appliances and burns.

You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we’ll come back. Use felt pads under furniture and wipe spills immediately.

What we do, step by step

From the moment we arrive, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the work takes a morning or an afternoon, depending on what we find, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. First the damaged area is cleaned.
  2. Next we fill the dents and chips.
  3. We level the repair to the board surface.
  4. We recreate the colour and grain by hand.
  5. Finally we match the sheen of the floor.

Preparing for the visit

  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work

Repair or replace: which is better?

Swapping a damaged board can mean lifting the floor back to it, sourcing a matching board and relaying. A repair leaves the floor down. Our wood floor repair starts from £95. A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send pictures and you will get a fixed figure.

Why Riverside customers choose us

How we price wood floor repair

Prices start from £95. We price every job individually, from your photos. What matters most is:

  • How many areas need work
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear

Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Quotes from your pictures

Most quotes are done from photos alone. To make it quick:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit

Email us a picture of the damage and one of the whole item, and tell us you’re in Riverside, and we will come back with a fixed quote.

FAQs for Riverside

Can scratched laminate be fixed?

Yes. Scratches and chips are filled and matched to the pattern.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.

Is it messy?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Just keep them out of the work area. We’ll tell you when the room can be used again.

What does wood floor repair cost?

Repairs from £95. We give a fixed price from your photos. Send a close-up and a picture of the entire item with your NR1 postcode.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit generally costs less than separate visits. Include photos of each item.

Is my repair covered?

Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Do you cover Riverside?

Yes. We cover the entire UK and travel to Riverside and the rest of Norfolk. Send photos and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
