Should you replace it?

Replacing a board can mean lifting the floor back to it, finding a board that matches and relaying. A repair works with the boards in place. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Rather than charging by the hour, we price the entire job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access.

What you get with us

  • No need to remove anything
  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • Same prices wherever you are
  • Colour mixed on the day to match

When a repair isn’t the answer

Some jobs aren’t right for a repair, including:

  • Laminate swollen along the joints by water
  • Boards that have lifted or warped
  • Underfloor damage

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before you book.

What we work on

  • Laminate flooring
  • Solid wood
  • Wood-effect vinyl (ask us)
  • Engineered wood

What affects the price in Stableford

Prices start from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including Stableford. The price reflects:

  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • The material
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first

We charge the same wherever you are, so there is no premium for Stableford. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

How to get a fixed price

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Try to send:

  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • One picture of the whole floor
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the floor, add your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

What happens on the day

Visits start with a quick look at the job together. Then the area is sheeted and masked and the work begins. You can expect it to take a few hours, and we’ll tell you if anything changes.

  1. We start by cleaning the damage.
  2. Next we fill the dents and chips.
  3. We sand the repair flush with the board.
  4. The colour and grain are recreated by hand.
  5. Finally we match the sheen of the floor.

Preparing for the visit

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Open a window if you can

Getting a price

The quickest way to a price is to send two or three pictures through our quote form or ring us. We’ll say right away whether it can be repaired.

10 questions to ask before booking

Can I fix it myself?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
