Wood floor repair for Wentlooge homes

What affects the price in Wentlooge

Prices start from £95. Each job gets its own fixed quote. This is what makes a difference:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • The material
  • The type of damage

No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Quotes from your pictures

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Please include:

  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • One picture of the entire floor
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

For a price in Wentlooge, pictures are the quickest way: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. You’ll get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.

Wood floor repair in Wentlooge without replacing anything

Boards are repaired where they lie, matched to the colour and grain. Laminate swollen by water can’t be repaired, and we’ll tell you if that is the case. We regularly repair solid wood, laminate flooring and wood-effect vinyl (ask us), and the jobs we see most are scratches from furniture and pets and chipped board edges.

You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything is not right, ring us and we’ll come back. Use felt pads under furniture and wipe spills right away.

FAQs for Wentlooge

Do I need to be at home?

We need someone to let us in. You don’t need to watch us work.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work and until it has cured. The rest of the house is unaffected.

Will it make a mess?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and we clean up when we’ve finished.

Can you price it without visiting?

Generally, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.

Will the price change on the day?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Yes, regularly. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit typically costs less than separate visits. Include photos of each item.

What information do you need?

Photos of the damage, a picture of the whole floor and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

Should you replace it?

Replacing a board can mean lifting the floor back to it, finding a board that matches and laying it all again. A repair works with the boards in place. Prices start from £95. Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.

What you get with us

  • Everything repaired in place
  • Typically one visit, start to finish
  • Repair technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor

Can I fix it myself?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

  2. We fill dents, chips and gouges.
  3. We sand the repair flush with the board.
  4. We match the colour and grain by hand.
