Wood floor repair near Wylam

How we price wood floor repair

Repairs from £95. You’ll know the full cost before booking. We take into account:

  • How many areas need work
  • The type of damage
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • The material

Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Wylam. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Quotes from your pictures

Two or three clear photos are normally enough. Try to include:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • One sharp close-up of the damage

Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and you will get a fixed quote back. There’s no charge for the quote and no obligation.

About our wood floor repair in Wylam

Boards are repaired where they lie, with the colour and grain matched by hand. Laminate swollen by water can’t be repaired, and we’ll tell you if that is the case. Common call-outs are for chipped board edges and gouges from moving appliances, on engineered wood, solid wood and wood-effect vinyl (ask us).

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months in Wylam and everywhere else. We return to put right any problem with the work. Put felt pads on furniture legs and wipe up spills promptly.

Our hiring checklist

Wylam: your questions answered

Do you work in Wylam?

Yes. We work across the UK and come to Wylam. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Will the price change on the day?

If we find something the photos didn’t show, we explain it first. The price only changes if you agree.

Do the materials smell?

There may be a mild smell during the work, which fades afterwards.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Generally, yes. We remove the old repair before doing a new one.

Do I have to be there?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. You don’t need to watch us work.

Is repairing better than replacing?

In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it isn’t worth repairing, we’ll tell you.

Does the room need clearing?

Just around the damaged area.

What do you need from me?

Photos of the damage, a photo of the entire floor and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

How the visit works

The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can stay at home while we are there. We protect the area first, then the work takes a morning or an afternoon. Before we leave, we explain how soon it can be used and how to look after it.

  1. We clean the damaged area.
  2. Dents, chips and gouges are filled.
  3. We level the repair to the board surface.
  4. We recreate the colour and grain by hand.
  5. Finally we match the sheen of the floor.

How to prepare

  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive

Advice

Should I try a DIY kit first?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
