Should I try a DIY kit first?
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.
What we do, step by step
You don’t need to empty the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and start once you’re happy with the plan. It typically takes a morning or an afternoon, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.
- First the damaged area is cleaned.
- Next we fill the dents and chips.
- We sand the repair flush with the board.
- The colour and grain are recreated by hand.
- The repair is finished to match the floor’s sheen.
Getting ready for the visit
- Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
- Clear the area around the damage
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
Get a quote
You do not need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.

What affects the price in Ysgubor Newydd
Repairs from £95. A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We take into account:
- What kind of damage it is
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- The material
- Whether we combine several jobs
A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.
Quotes from your photos
A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. Try to include:
- A picture taken from further back
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the whole floor, we can give you a fixed quote the same day in most cases.
