Need non-slip bath coating in Claypits?

Non-slip bath coating at your home in Claypits

It suits homes with older or less mobile people, holiday lets and families. The coating is clear and textured, so it shows only as a slightly matt area where you stand. Our technicians work on resurfaced baths, shower trays and wet room floors (ask us), and common reasons people get in touch are bath mats that harbour mould or get forgotten and safety for older or less mobile people.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you’re not left on your own once we have gone. A soft brush and mild cleaner keep it clean. Avoid scourers on the coating.

How it works

On the day, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. Expect it to take a few hours. We tidy up before we leave and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. We clean and degrease the standing area.
  2. The area to be treated is masked out.
  3. We apply the clear textured coating.
  4. The masking comes off to leave a neat edge.
  5. We leave it to cure, generally overnight.

How to prepare

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Ensure the area is dry

Advice

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

Honest limits

We won’t take on work that won’t last, so here’s what a repair can’t put right:

  • Surfaces that are already damaged or peeling (these need repairing first)
  • Textured areas still wet or recently cleaned with oily products
  • Outdoor surfaces

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before you book.

Surfaces we repair

  • Shower trays
  • Enamelled baths
  • Acrylic baths
  • Wet room floors (ask us)
  • Resurfaced baths

Prices and what affects them

There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:

  • Access to the area
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.

Send photos for a quote

Good photos mean an accurate price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A photo taken from further back

Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them over with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price. There’s no charge for the quote and you are under no obligation.

Do you need non-slip bath coating in Claypits?

Baths and trays are made smooth so they’re easy to clean, yet wet, soapy surfaces are slippery. The textured patch on an older bath also wears down over time.

Typical reasons for a call-out include:

  • Safety for older or less mobile people
  • Resurfaced baths that are now too smooth
  • Worn-out textured areas
  • Bath mats that harbour mould or get forgotten

What your quote should include

  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
  • How changes to the job are handled
  • What prep work is covered
  • How the room is protected while they work

Choosing a repair company

Repair or replace in Claypits?

The alternatives are replacing the bath or tray with a textured one, or relying on a mat, which traps water and needs cleaning. A non-slip coating treats your existing bath or tray. Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.
