Trusted non-slip bath coating in Langbank

Non-slip bath coating in Langbank, done in place

It’s popular with older people, families and holiday lets. The coating is clear and textured, so the bath looks much the same. We are frequently asked to fix safety for older or less mobile people and resurfaced baths that are now too smooth, on resurfaced baths, acrylic baths and enamelled baths.

You’re covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before you book. A soft brush and mild cleaner keep it clean. Do not use abrasive pads on the textured area.

What we’re called out for in Langbank

Smooth surfaces are easy to clean, yet wet, soapy surfaces are slippery. The textured patch on an older bath also wears down over time.

People normally call us when they notice one of these:

  • Worn-out textured areas
  • A bath or tray that is slippery when wet
  • Bath mats that harbour mould or get forgotten
  • Resurfaced baths that are now too smooth

Langbank questions

How do I clean it?

Yes. Use a soft brush and a mild cleaner.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Of course. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

Are you accredited?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

Is there a call-out fee?

No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.

Is there any odour?

It depends on the job, but often a little. Open windows and an extractor fan help.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, so the repair isn’t disturbed while it cures.

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time that suits you.

Will it make a mess?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and tidy up before we leave.

Should you replace it?

Instead, you could go for a new textured bath or tray, or relying on a mat that needs lifting and cleaning. A non-slip coating adds grip to the bath you have. Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

What happens on the day

When we visit, we arrive at the time we have agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job usually takes a few hours. We tidy up before we leave and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. We clean and degrease the standing area.
  2. We mask out the area to be treated.
  3. The clear textured coating is applied.
  4. We lift the masking for a clean edge.
  5. Once it has cured, normally overnight, it’s ready.

How to prepare

  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Let us know about parking or access

Advice

Should I try a DIY kit first?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair won’t last.

When we’d advise against a repair

In fairness, some problems need a different fix:

  • Surfaces that are already damaged or peeling (these need repairing first)
  • Textured areas still wet or recently cleaned with oily products
  • Outdoor surfaces

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.

Materials we repair

  • Enamelled baths
  • Resurfaced baths
  • Acrylic baths
  • Shower trays
  • Wet room floors (ask us)

Work for landlords and builders

Letting agents frequently send us pictures straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

Prices and what affects them

Prices are worked out job by job. The main factors are:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • How much damage there is
  • How many items we do on one visit

Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.

How to get a fixed quote

The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath or shower tray
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

We price from pictures so you don’t have to wait in for a survey. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and you will get a fixed figure back.
