Non-slip bath coating in Puriton, done in place
It’s popular with older people, families and holiday lets. The coating is clear and textured, so the bath looks much the same. Common call-outs are for bath mats that harbour mould or get forgotten and safety for older or less mobile people, across wet room floors (ask us), enamelled baths and resurfaced baths.
All our work comes with a one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Somerset. Clean with a soft brush and a mild cleaner. Don’t use abrasive pads on the textured area.

Work for landlords and builders
For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover. We can visit several plots in one trip.
Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

Puriton: your questions answered
I’m a tenant. Can you help?
Yes. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.
Can pets and children be at home?
Just keep them out of the work area. We’ll let you know when it’s safe to use again.
Is there a call-out fee?
We don’t add a call-out fee. Your fixed quote includes everything.
Can you do more than one item on the same visit?
Of course, and it usually saves money. Just add the extra items to your photos and we’ll quote them together.
What areas do you cover?
We work UK-wide. Prices don’t change with location.
Is there a guarantee?
Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.
What if the damage is worse than the photos show?
We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.
How do I clean it?
Yes. Use a soft brush and a mild cleaner.
What happens on the day
On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we’ll take it from there. The job generally runs to a few hours, including clearing up.
- We start by degreasing the area where you stand.
- Next we mask off the area.
- The clear textured coating is applied.
- We lift the masking for a clean edge.
- Once it has cured, normally overnight, it’s ready.
How to prepare
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
- Keep a parking space free if you can
- Ensure the area is dry

Advice
Prices and what affects them
There is no area surcharge for Puriton. The price reflects:
- The size and number of damaged areas
- How easy the damage is to reach
- How many items we do on one visit
- How hard the colour is to match
There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.
Getting a price from photos
When you take your photos, a few simple things make all the difference:
- Something in shot to show the size
- One picture of the whole bath or shower tray
- Natural light rather than flash
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
Most customers in Puriton get their price from pictures. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.
Honest limits
A repair is not always the answer, and we’d rather say so up front. We can’t fix:
- Surfaces that are already damaged or peeling (these need repairing first)
- Textured areas still wet or recently cleaned with oily products
- Outdoor surfaces
If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think.
Materials we repair
- Wet room floors (ask us)
- Enamelled baths
- Shower trays
- Resurfaced baths
- Acrylic baths
Repair or replace in Puriton?
Instead, you could go for replacing the bath or tray with a textured one, or a bath mat, which traps water and needs cleaning. A coating adds grip to the bath you have. A repair generally costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.
Why Puriton clients choose us
- Honest advice, even when it means no job
- Same prices wherever you are
- Normally one visit, start to finish
- No need to remove anything
Read our prices page.
Should I try a DIY kit first?
A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.
Common problems we fix in Puriton
Smooth surfaces are easy to clean, but with soap and water on them they become slippery. Textured areas on older baths wear smooth too.
If you can see any of these, send us a picture:
- Resurfaced baths that are now too smooth
- Bath mats that harbour mould or get forgotten
- Safety for older or less mobile people
- A bath or tray that is slippery when wet
What your quote should include
- Whether the price covers travel
- How soon you can use it again
- What prep work is covered
- How long the guarantee is and what it covers
