Non-slip bath coating at your home in Sands

It’s popular with homes with older or less mobile people, holiday lets and families. The coating is clear and textured, so it shows only as a slightly matt area where you stand. Whether it’s worn-out textured areas and a bath or tray that is slippery when wet, we can usually put it right.

A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover. A soft brush and mild cleaner keep it clean. Avoid scourers on the coating.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.

Sands questions

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as homeowners across Kirklees.

Is a non-slip bath easy to clean?

Yes. A soft brush and mild cleaner is all it needs.

Can you repair several things at once?

Of course, and it generally saves money. Just add the extra items to your pictures and we’ll quote them together.

Will I see the coating?

Very little: the treated area looks slightly matt.

Is there a call-out fee?

There’s no separate call-out charge. Your fixed price includes everything.

Do you cover Sands?

Yes. We cover the entire UK and come to Sands. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.

Do you cover the whole of Kirklees?

We work UK-wide, and that includes Sands. Our prices are the same everywhere.

What non-slip bath coating costs

Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we look at:

  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • How much damage there is
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • How easy the damage is to reach

Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access.

How to get a fixed quote

The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • The material, if you know it
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit

If you’re in Sands and want a price, the easiest route is pictures: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. You will get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.

What happens on the day

It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We confirm the time with you beforehand, protect the area, and get on with the job, which normally takes a morning or an afternoon. If anything looks different from your photos, we’ll talk to you before going ahead.

  1. We start by degreasing the area where you stand.
  2. We mask out the area to be treated.
  3. We apply the clear textured coating.
  4. We remove the masking for a neat edge.
  5. Once it has cured, normally overnight, it’s ready.

How to prepare

  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before

How to get a price

You do not need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

Advice

Why repair rather than replace?

Instead, you could go for replacing the bath or tray with a textured one, or a bath mat that needs lifting and cleaning. A coating treats your existing bath or tray. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before booking, with nothing added on the day.

Why book with us

  • No extra charge for your area
  • We leave the room as we found it

We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair cannot fix:

  • Surfaces that are already damaged or peeling (these need repairing first)
  • Textured areas still wet or recently cleaned with oily products
  • Outdoor surfaces

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly.
