Non-slip bath coating at your home in St Ives
The coating is clear and textured, so it shows only as a slightly matt area where you stand. It suits homes with older or less mobile people, holiday lets and families. We regularly repair enamelled baths, shower trays and wet room floors (ask us), and the jobs we see most are resurfaced baths that are now too smooth and safety for older or less mobile people.
Every repair is covered by our one-year guarantee. A soft brush and mild cleaner keep it clean. Avoid scourers on the coating.

The process
When we visit, we arrive at the time we have agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. Expect it to take a morning or an afternoon. We clean up when we are done and tell you when it’s ready to use.
- We start by degreasing the area where you stand.
- The area to be treated is masked out.
- We put on the clear non-slip coating.
- We remove the masking for a neat edge.
- Once it has cured, normally overnight, it’s ready.
Preparing for the visit
- Let us know if it has been repaired before
- Let the surface dry out before the visit
- Keep a parking space free if you can
Getting a price
A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the entire bath or shower tray, include your postcode and send them to us. You will get a fixed quote, not an estimate.

What else we do in St Ives
Why repair rather than replace?
Instead, you could go for a new textured bath or tray, or a bath mat, which traps water and needs cleaning. A non-slip coating treats your existing bath or tray. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed quote from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

St Ives questions
How soon can you come?
That depends on our diary for your area. Send pictures with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.
Can I add another job to the visit?
Of course, and it normally saves money. Just add the extra items to your photos and we will quote them together.
Do you hold any accreditations?
We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.
Can you redo someone else’s repair?
Yes, we often do. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.
Is there a guarantee?
Yes, for a year. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.
Can tenants book a repair?
Of course. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.
Is a repair better than a new one?
In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.
Do you come to St Ives?
Yes. We work across the UK and travel to St Ives and the rest of Cornwall. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
Prices and what affects them
Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:
- Unusual colours or finishes
- The material and finish
- What kind of damage it is
- How much damage there is
Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for St Ives. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.
How to get a fixed quote
The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:
- Where you are, by postcode
- A picture taken from further back
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can give you a fixed price the same day in most cases.
DIY repairs versus a professional job
What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.
What we’re called out for in St Ives
Baths and trays are made smooth so they’re easy to clean, yet wet, soapy surfaces are slippery. Textured areas on older baths wear smooth too.
The most common problems we’re called about are:
- Worn-out textured areas
- A bath or tray that is slippery when wet
- Bath mats that harbour mould or get forgotten
- Resurfaced baths that are now too smooth
Before you book anyone
- A fixed price, and whether VAT is included
- How long the guarantee is and what it covers
- Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
- Whether they match the colour on site

Landlord and trade work in St Ives
Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.
Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.
