Non-slip bath coating for St Luke's homes

What non-slip bath coating costs

There is no area surcharge for St Luke's. What changes the price is:

  • What kind of damage it is
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • The material and finish

We charge the same wherever you are, so there is no premium for St Luke's. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

How to get a fixed price

Good pictures mean an accurate price. Here’s what helps:

  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • The material, if you know it
  • A photo taken from further back

For most jobs, photos are all we need to give you a price. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we will reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

Non-slip bath coating at your home in St Luke's

It suits older people, families and holiday lets. It’s a clear, textured coating, so it shows only as a slightly matt area where you stand. We are frequently asked to fix safety for older or less mobile people and resurfaced baths that are now too smooth, on resurfaced baths, shower trays and wet room floors (ask us).

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee. A soft brush and mild cleaner keep it clean. Do not use abrasive pads on the textured area.

How the visit works

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive at the agreed slot, protect everything around the work area, do the job and tidy away. Plan for a few hours. Before we go, we’ll explain how long to leave it and how to look after it.

  1. We start by degreasing the area where you stand.
  2. Next we mask off the area.
  3. The clear textured coating is applied.
  4. The masking comes off to leave a neat edge.
  5. The coating is left to cure before use, generally overnight.

Before we arrive

  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

What a repair cannot fix

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • Surfaces that are already damaged or peeling (these need repairing first)
  • Textured areas still wet or recently cleaned with oily products
  • Outdoor surfaces

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Resurfaced baths
  • Wet room floors (ask us)
  • Enamelled baths
  • Acrylic baths
  • Shower trays

When to call us in St Luke's

Smooth surfaces are easy to clean, but with soap and water on them they become slippery. Textured areas on older baths wear smooth too.

These are the problems we are asked about most:

  • Bath mats that harbour mould or get forgotten
  • Worn-out textured areas
  • A bath or tray that is slippery when wet
  • Resurfaced baths that are now too smooth

Before booking anyone

  • What prep work is covered
  • When it can be used again
  • How your room will be protected
  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?

Our hiring checklist

Work for landlords and builders

Letting agents frequently send us photos straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.

Should you replace it?

Instead, you could go for replacing the bath or tray with a textured one, or relying on a mat that needs lifting and cleaning. A coating treats your existing bath or tray. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed quote from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

Why St Luke's clients choose us

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

Your questions about non-slip bath coating in St Luke's

Is a non-slip bath easy to clean?

Yes. A soft brush and mild cleaner is all it needs.

How soon can you come?

We will give you dates with your quote. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit usually costs less than separate visits. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children, so the repair is not disturbed while it cures.

Are you accredited?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.

What happens after I send photos?

You will get a fixed quote back, typically with dates to choose from. There’s no obligation to book.

Will a non-slip coating change how my bath looks?

Very little: it shows as a matt area where you stand.
