How we handle non-slip bath coating in The Holt

The coating is clear and textured, so the bath looks much the same. It suits older people, families and holiday lets. We are frequently asked to fix worn-out textured areas and resurfaced baths that are now too smooth, in wet room floors (ask us), enamelled baths and acrylic baths.

All our work is covered by our one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Wokingham. A soft brush and mild cleaner keep it clean. Avoid scourers on the coating.

Why repair rather than replace?

The alternatives are a new textured bath or tray, or relying on a mat that needs lifting and cleaning. A coating treats your existing bath or tray. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed quote from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

Why book with us

  • Everything repaired in place
  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK
  • No extra charge for your area
  • Generally one visit, start to finish

How it works

The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can stay at home while we’re there. We protect the area first, then the job itself takes a few hours. At the end we talk you through the curing time and the aftercare.

  1. We clean and degrease the standing area.
  2. Next we mask off the area.
  3. We apply the clear textured coating.
  4. The masking comes off to leave a neat edge.
  5. We leave it to cure, normally overnight.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift

Can I fix it myself?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

What affects the price in The Holt

We price every job individually, from your photos. What matters most is:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • How much damage there is
  • The type of damage

The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. You’ll see the full price before you book.

Getting a price from pictures

Before you send photos, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • Something in shot to show the size
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath or shower tray
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection

There is no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

Honest limits

  • Textured areas still wet or recently cleaned with oily products
  • Outdoor surfaces

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before booking.
