Bath repair at your home in DA2

We repair enamelled steel, cast iron and acrylic baths. Each material is repaired a little differently: metal baths need any rust dealt with first, and acrylic cracks need support from behind. We regularly repair pressed steel enamel, cast iron enamel and roll-top & freestanding, and common reasons people contact us are rust by the waste and overflow and deep scratches in acrylic.

From the moment we arrive, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. We mask off everything nearby, the work takes two to three hours for most chips, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased, and any rust is treated.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the following day.

What it costs in DA2

Repair or replace?

A repair makes sense whenever the damage is localised. It’s a fraction of the cost of a new bath and fitting, it takes one visit, and nothing else in the room changes.

Questions to ask before you book

  • What prep work is covered
  • What protection goes down before work starts
  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long
  • Whether the price covers travel

Signs you need bath repair

Heavy toiletries are the biggest single cause of chips, closely followed by shower heads. Taps and wastes cause problems too: water collects there, so chips nearby rust quickly.

Signs it’s time to call us include:

  • Chips on the rim or sides
  • A cracked acrylic bath
  • Scratches you can feel with a fingernail
  • A chip where the taps sit

What a repair can’t fix

A repair isn’t always the answer, and we’ll tell you before we start. Repairs won’t solve:

  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
  • Wear across the entire surface, which needs re-enamelling

Should I try a DIY kit first?

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

Landlord and trade work in DA2

If you manage property in DA2, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send photos for each address and we’ll come back with a combined price.

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.
