Bath repair at your home in IP32
Small damage on a bath is worth repairing early. Exposed metal on enamelled baths soon rusts, and on acrylic, a crack keeps spreading while the bath flexes. Repairing it stops the damage getting worse. Typical jobs include hairline or through cracks in acrylic and holes from dropped items, across roll-top & freestanding, whirlpool & spa baths and cast iron enamel.
There’s not much you need to do on the day. Let us in and show us the room, and we will get on with it. Most visits take two to three hours for most chips, including clearing up.
- We clean the area and remove any loose enamel or rust.
- The chip or crack is filled, then sanded level with the bath.
- We mix the colour on the day to match your bath’s exact shade.
- We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
- Once it has cured, typically by the day after, the bath is ready to use.
What it costs in IP32
Prices start from £95. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed price from your pictures, so you know the cost before you book.

How the damage happens
A bath gets knocked about more than you’d think: everyday items get dropped into it all the time, and taps and wastes are tightened against the surface. Sooner or later, most baths pick up a chip.
Signs it’s time to call us include:
- Damage beneath the taps
- A cracked acrylic bath
- Deep scratches in acrylic
- A chipped rim or side
Landlords, agents and businesses in IP32
Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.
Letting agents frequently send us pictures straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.
Why repair rather than replace?
When the bath is otherwise sound, repairing beats replacing. It’s quicker, cheaper and far less disruptive, and you keep the bath you chose. If the entire surface is worn, re-enamelling may make more sense, and we will tell you.

How to look after the repair
To keep it looking its best:
- If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
- Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas
- Have new chips seen to early
- Don’t scrub with anything abrasive
There is nothing special to do after a repair. Skip bleach and gritty creams and rinse after use.
A chip on a metal bath shouldn’t be left. Water gets to the metal and rust starts, and a rust spot is a bigger repair than a clean chip.
Can I fix it myself?
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.
A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.
