Bath repair across S62: what to expect
Repairing baths is what we do most. A chip by the taps, a crack in the base and a rust spot by the plughole are all fixed without removing the bath, normally in one visit. Typical jobs include rust spots around the plughole and a chipped rim or side, in pressed steel enamel, cast iron enamel and roll-top & freestanding.
On the day, we arrive at the time we have agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job typically takes a few hours. We tidy up before we leave and let you know when you can use it again.
- First, we check the damage against your pictures and agree the plan.
- Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
- We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
- We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
- The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.
What you will pay
Prices start from £95. Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.
What you get with us
- One visit for most repairs
- A year’s guarantee on all work
- No extra charge for your area
- No need to remove anything

What bath repair costs
Repairs from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including S62. The price reflects:
- What the surface is made of
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- The type of damage
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is usually a fraction of the price, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.
How to get a fixed price
We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what we need:
- Any details about the material
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- A wider photo showing the entire bath
- Details of any past repairs
Send us pictures of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, and tell us you are in S62, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.
When a repair isn’t the answer
Not everything can be repaired, and we would rather say so up front. We cannot fix:
- A steel bath rusted through
- A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
- Cracks in acrylic we cannot reach from underneath
Different materials, different repairs
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, with a fused enamel surface. Chips can rust if left, but the bath itself lasts for generations, which makes it well worth repairing.
Composite and resin
Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and frequently freestanding. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour matched, just like other baths.
What we’re called out for in S62
Glass and heavy bottles cause more chips than anything else. Fittings cause damage too: water sits around them, and any chip there soon rusts.
People normally call us when they notice something like this:
- Chips caused by builders
- Deep scratches in acrylic
- An old repair that has yellowed or come loose
- Chips under the taps
Keeping it looking good
Simple care helps the repair last. Our advice:
- Have new chips seen to early
- Keep metal cans and razors off the surface
- Don’t scrub with anything abrasive
- Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
Do not leave razors, cans or hair grips in the bath, because they can mark the enamel. A dripping tap should be fixed early, too.
Avoid standing in a cracked acrylic bath until it’s fixed. Every use opens the crack a little more, and water can get through to the floor below.
S62: your questions answered
Will you leave a mess?
Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.
Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?
In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it is not worth repairing, we’ll tell you.
Do you charge for travel?
Travel is included in the price, and we charge the same wherever you are.
Can a cracked acrylic bath be fixed?
Most of the time. The back of the crack is strengthened before the front is filled and refinished, so access behind the panel is important.
Do you work in S62?
Yes. We cover the whole UK and travel to S62 and the rest of Rotherham. Send photos and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
Can landlords book you?
Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders.
Something went through my bath. Can it be fixed?
Usually. Send us a photo of the hole and one from under the bath if you can.
