Bath repair at your home in SA20
A repair fixes just the damaged area and blends it into the rest of the bath, which is far cheaper than replacing a fitted bath and the tiles around it. You can normally use the bath the following day. We are often asked to fix snagging damage from a refit and holes from dropped items, on whirlpool & spa baths, roll-top & freestanding and acrylic.
We agree an arrival time beforehand, so you know when to expect us. Once we are there, the work takes two to three hours for most chips for most jobs. The room is left tidy and ready to use once it has cured.
- We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
- Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
- The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
- We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
- The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.
What you’ll pay
Our bath repair starts from £95. We do not add extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Landmarks near Llandovery
In Llandovery, that means homes near Ysgol Rhys Prichard, Tabernacl Chapel and Llandovery British School, among other places. Llandovery has its own railway station: Llandovery station. Further afield, we also cover the area around Llandovery Hospital (under half a mile north) and Llandovery Castle (less than half a mile south). Not far away are Mandinam Lake and Cefn-yr-allt.
Signs you need bath repair
Glass and heavy bottles cause more chips than anything else, with dropped shower heads close behind. Taps and wastes cause problems too: water sits around them, and any chip there soon rusts.
These are the problems we are asked about most:
- Chips on the rim or sides
- Rusty patches near the plughole
- A cracked acrylic bath
- A failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting
DIY repairs versus a professional job
If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
What a repair cannot fix
We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair cannot fix:
- Metal that has corroded all the way through
- Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
- Wear across the entire surface, which needs re-enamelling
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Pressed steel
Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.
Acrylic
Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it relies on good support. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.
Looking after it afterwards
How the surface is treated afterwards matters. Here’s what we suggest:
- Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
- Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas
- Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby
- Use a soft cloth and washing-up liquid for everyday cleaning
There’s nothing special to do after a repair, just sensible cleaning. Skip bleach and gritty creams.
Rust spreads under enamel faster than most people expect. Left for months, a small chip can grow into a large rust patch, so early repair keeps the cost down.
Your questions about bath repair in SA20
What areas do you cover?
Across the UK, so SA20 is covered. Our prices are the same everywhere.
Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?
Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it is not worth repairing, we will tell you.
Can you match an avocado or pink bath?
Yes, coloured baths are no problem. The colour is tinted by hand on the day.
I tried a repair kit. Can you fix it?
Regularly. We strip it out, deal with any rust and repair it again.
Can tenants book a repair?
Of course. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.
Will you leave a mess?
No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.
Do the materials smell?
Expect a mild smell while we are working.
