Shower tray repair in Angmering, done in place

You do not always need a new tray. If it’s firmly supported, we can repair it where it is, which is far less work than a replacement. We are often asked to fix staining and dullness across the tray and chips caused during fitting, in ceramic, enamelled steel and stone resin.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months in Angmering and everywhere else. We return to put right any problem with the work.

What a repair cannot fix

A repair is not always the answer, and we’ll tell you before we start. We can’t fix:

  • A tray that flexes because it was never properly supported
  • Leaking waste fittings
  • Multiple cracks across the tray

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

Surfaces we repair

  • Enamelled steel
  • Acrylic
  • Stone resin
  • Ceramic
  • Cast iron

What happens on the day

Visits start with a quick look at the job together, so you know exactly what we are doing. Next, we cover and mask everything nearby and the work begins. You can expect it to take a few hours, or most of a day for a full resurface.

  1. First we check the tray is solid and work out why any crack happened.
  2. Next we clean and prepare the tray.
  3. We fill and strengthen any chips or cracks and sand them smooth.
  4. The repair is colour matched, or the entire tray gets a new finish.
  5. The tray is left to cure and can normally be used the day after.

Getting ready for the visit

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

Common questions in Angmering

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Generally, yes. Let us know what was used before.

How quickly can you book me in?

That depends on our diary for your area. We’ll offer you dates when we send your quote.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes, often. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

Do you charge for travel?

Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Do the materials smell?

A little, depending on the job. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum.

What does shower tray repair cost?

Prices start from £95. The exact price depends on the damage, so we quote from photos. You know the full cost before anything is booked.

Is a cracked shower tray safe to use?

It’s best to stop using it until it’s checked, because water may be getting underneath.

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Acrylic

Acrylic-capped trays are lighter, so good support matters. We repair cracks and scratches.

Enamelled steel

Steel trays have an enamel surface like a steel bath. Exposed metal can rust, so early repairs help.

How we price shower tray repair

Repairs from £95. Prices are worked out job by job, from your photos. What matters most is:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • The type of damage

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. The full price is agreed before booking, with no extras added later.

How to get a fixed quote

Before you send photos, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

There’s no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.

What we’re called out for in Angmering

The waste is a common starting point for cracks, where the tray is cut and the fitting is tightened.

These are the problems we’re asked about most:

  • A tray that looks tired however much you clean it
  • Scratches from cleaning or grit
  • A cracked shower tray
  • Damage around the waste

What to look for in a quote

  • The length of the guarantee and what it covers
  • How your room will be protected
  • What prep work is covered
  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT

Aftercare tips

To keep it looking its best:

  • Reseal when the silicone splits or turns black
  • Clean with washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
  • Don’t use strong acids or bleach
  • Use the extractor fan

Keep an eye on the sealant, and reseal when it starts to fail.

If the tray creaks or moves, get it checked, before it cracks or gets worse.

Repairing versus replacing in Angmering

If the tray is solid and the crack hasn’t let water spread, repair is typically best. If water has damaged the floor, or the tray is cracked in several places, a new tray may be better. Prices start from £95. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.
