Shower tray repair near Garn-Las

What we can’t put right

We’d rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so these are the limits:

  • Movement caused by a poor base, until the support is fixed
  • Plumbing leaks under the tray
  • Multiple cracks across the tray

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.

What we work on

  • Acrylic
  • Stone resin
  • Cast iron
  • Ceramic
  • Enamelled steel

Shower tray repair at your home in Garn-Las

We repair a lot of shower trays. Chips by the waste, cracks across the base and dull, stained surfaces can all be put right without removing the tray. We are often asked to fix snagging damage in a new bathroom and chipped corners or rims, across ceramic, stone resin and enamelled steel.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there’s a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

What we are called out for in Garn-Las

Rigid trays don’t bend, they crack if the floor beneath them isn’t flat and fully supported. Movement in a timber floor has the same effect.

Signs it’s time to call us include:

  • A crack across the base
  • Damage around the waste
  • Damage from a refit or building work
  • Edge chips from dropped bottles

Our hiring checklist

What your shower tray is made of matters

Ceramic

Ceramic gives a hard, high-gloss surface. They chip and crack from impact, and we match the gloss when we repair them.

Stone resin

Stone resin is a dense, rigid material with a smooth gel coat. They crack if the base isn’t fully supported, and chips are filled and matched to the surface.

Keeping it looking good

Aftercare is simple:

  • Rinse away soap after showering
  • Clean with washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
  • Do not stand heavy bottles on the tray
  • Keep harsh chemicals off the tray

Store heavy bottles on a shelf, not on the tray, so they cannot be knocked over.

Do not keep using a cracked tray. Water can get through to the floor and walls, where it causes damage you can’t see.

Repairing versus replacing in Garn-Las

The tray itself may not cost much, but the work around it does: taking out the enclosure, tiling and resealing. A repair is one visit. Prices start from £95. We don’t add extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Common questions in Garn-Las

How long does it take to cure?

Normally by the following day. We’ll confirm before we leave.

Can a cracked shower tray be repaired?

In most cases. A tray that moves needs its support sorting before the repair.

How do I book?

Photos of the damage, a picture of the whole shower tray and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

Do I have to be there?

We need someone to let us in. You don’t need to watch us work.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Of course. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

Will it make a mess?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we take our waste away with us.

Will there be a smell?

There may be a mild smell during the work, which fades afterwards.

What happens next?

We come back with a fixed quote, plus dates. There is no obligation to book.

What shower tray repair costs

Repairs from £95. Prices are worked out job by job. The main factors are:

  • What kind of damage it is
  • The material
  • The colour and finish to match
  • How easy the damage is to reach

The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. You will see the full price before you book.

How to get a fixed quote

Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Try to send:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • One picture of the entire shower tray

If you’re in Garn-Las and want a price, pictures are the quickest way: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.

The process

Expect a friendly, tidy visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, protect the area, and get on with the job, which typically takes a few hours, or most of the day to resurface the whole tray. If we find something your photos didn’t show, we will explain it before carrying on.

  1. We check the tray for movement first.
  2. We clean the damage and open it up so the repair can bond.
  3. We reinforce any crack and fill the damage.
  4. We shape the repair, match the colour and finish it.
  5. We leave it to cure, normally until the following day.

How to prepare

  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit

Getting a price

Can I fix it myself?

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.
