Shower tray repair in Little London without replacing anything

Before repairing a crack, we find out why it happened. A tray that moves needs its support sorting first, so the repair lasts. We are frequently asked to fix a dull, stained or worn surface and snagging damage in a new bathroom, on ceramic, cast iron and enamelled steel.

You’re covered after we leave: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we will explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

Discoloured square shower tray restored with a new white finish

What shower tray repair costs

Prices start from £95. There is no area surcharge for Little London. The price reflects:

  • Access to the area
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • How much damage there is
  • The colour and finish to match

The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.

Quotes from your photos

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what to send:

  • Natural light rather than flash
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Something in shot to show the size

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the whole shower tray, add your postcode and send them to us. You’ll get a fixed price, not an estimate.

Looking after it afterwards

Nothing complicated is needed, just a few sensible habits:

  • Don’t use strong acids or bleach
  • Reseal when the silicone splits or turns black
  • Clean with washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
  • Use the extractor fan

Keep scourers and harsh chemicals off the tray. Warm water and a mild detergent is enough.

Do not keep using a cracked tray. Water can get through to the floor and walls, where it causes damage you can’t see.

How it works

We agree an arrival time beforehand. Once we are there, the work takes a few hours for a repair, longer for a full resurface. The room is left tidy.

  1. We check the tray is firmly supported and find the cause of any crack.
  2. The damaged area, or the entire tray, is cleaned and prepared.
  3. Chips and cracks are filled, reinforced and sanded level.
  4. The repair is colour matched, or the whole tray gets a new finish.
  5. Once cured, generally by the next day, you can use the shower.

How to prepare

  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift

Can I fix it myself?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

When a repair isn’t the answer

We’d rather lose a job than do one that will not last, so here’s what a repair cannot put right:

  • A tray that flexes because it was never properly supported
  • Rotten or damaged flooring underneath
  • Trays cracked in several places

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before you book.

Do you need shower tray repair in Little London?

Rigid trays don’t bend, they crack if the floor beneath them is not flat and fully supported. Movement in a timber floor has the same effect.

You may need us if you’ve spotted:

  • Edge chips from dropped bottles
  • Chips caused during fitting
  • A damaged area around the waste
  • Scratches from cleaning or grit

Comparing quotes

  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • How the room is protected while they work
  • How the colour is matched

Should you replace it?

Trays sit under the screen and tiles, so taking one out disturbs a lot. Repairing it avoids that disruption. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. A repair generally costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.
