Shower tray repair in Surfleet without replacing anything
A cracked or chipped shower tray does not always need replacing. If it’s solid underneath, it can generally be repaired in place, which is far less work than a replacement. We regularly repair enamelled steel, stone resin and cast iron, and people most frequently call us about movement when you stand on it and damage from a refit or building work.
Peace of mind is built in: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

Should I try a DIY kit first?
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.
The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.

Can landlords book you?
Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as homeowners.
Can you price it without visiting?
Normally, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.
Is it safe with children and pets around?
Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit. Everywhere else in the home is fine.
Are there extra charges for Surfleet?
No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.
Is there any odour?
Expect a mild smell while we’re working that clears as it cures.
What does shower tray repair cost?
Prices start from £95. Because every job differs, we price from pictures. You know the full cost before anything is booked.
Are you a vetted contractor?
Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.
What happens on the day
Expect a friendly, tidy visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, cover and mask the work area, and get on with the job, which typically takes a few hours for a repair, longer for a full resurface. If anything looks different from your pictures, we will talk to you before going ahead.
- We check the tray for movement first.
- We clean the damage and open it up so the repair can bond.
- Cracks are reinforced and the damage filled.
- The repair is shaped, colour matched and finished.
- It’s left to cure, generally until the following day.
Getting ready for the visit

Advice
What else we do in Surfleet
What a repair can’t fix
A repair isn’t always the answer, and we’d rather say so up front. We cannot fix:
- Multiple cracks across the tray
- Plumbing leaks under the tray
- A tray that moves underfoot
Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.
What we work on
- Ceramic
- Enamelled steel
- Stone resin
- Acrylic
- Cast iron
How we price shower tray repair
Repairs from £95. A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We take into account:
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- Doing more than one item at once
- The type of damage
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send pictures and you will get a fixed figure.
Getting a price from photos
Two or three clear pictures are normally enough. It helps if you send:
- A photo taken from further back
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- Something in shot to show the size
We price from photos so you don’t have to wait in for a survey. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and we’ll come back with a fixed figure.
Repairs by material
Ceramic
Ceramic trays are hard and glossy. Impacts can chip or crack them, and we match the gloss when we repair them.
Acrylic
Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.
Should you replace it?
A new tray can be cheap, but fitting it is not: removing the screen, breaking out tiles, relaying the base and re-tiling. Repairing it takes one visit. Our shower tray repair starts from £95. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.
