What a repair can’t fix

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair cannot fix:

  • Leaks from the waste or pipework (a plumber’s job)
  • Multiple cracks across the tray
  • A tray that flexes because it was never properly supported

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.

What we work on

  • Enamelled steel
  • Cast iron
  • Acrylic
  • Ceramic
  • Stone resin

Do you need shower tray repair in Tregele?

Heavy bottles, shower heads and dropped razors chip trays, generally along the edges or by the waste.

The things customers typically mention when they call are:

  • Snagging damage in a new bathroom
  • Scratches in the surface
  • Staining and dullness across the tray
  • Edge chips from dropped bottles

What your quote should include

  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
  • How your room will be protected
  • When it can be used again
  • Who turns up on the day

Our hiring checklist

What your shower tray is made of matters

Acrylic

Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it relies on good support. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

Stone resin

Stone resin trays are popular because they’re rigid and low-profile. They need a flat, solid base, and we match repairs to the surface finish.

Your questions about shower tray repair in Tregele

How do I book?

Photos of the damage, a picture of the whole shower tray and your postcode. Then we will agree a date.

Is a cracked tray repairable?

Often. A tray that moves needs its support sorting before the repair.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the photos cannot show what we need.

Is there any odour?

Some materials have a smell while they’re applied, so we ventilate the room. It clears as the materials cure.

Is it OK to use a cracked tray?

Not until you know the crack isn’t letting water through. Check the ceiling below for damp.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.

When can I use the shower again?

We’ll give you the curing time on the day, normally the following day.

What areas do you cover?

We cover the whole UK, including Tregele and the rest of Isle of Anglesey. Send your postcode with your photos and we will offer you dates.

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. There’s no charge for travel to Tregele. The price depends on:

  • The material and finish
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • How much damage there is

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. You’ll see the full price before booking, with nothing added on the day.

Getting a price from photos

Two or three clear pictures are typically enough. It helps if you send:

  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A picture taken from further back
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them to us with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price. There’s no charge for the quote and no obligation.

What happens on the day

We begin by going over the job with you, so you know exactly what we are doing. After that, protection goes down around the work area and we start. Allow a few hours, or most of the day to resurface the whole tray, and we’ll tell you if anything changes.

  1. We ensure the tray does not flex and look for the cause of any crack.
  2. We clean and prepare the damaged area or the entire tray.
  3. We fill and reinforce chips and cracks, then sand them flush.
  4. We colour-match the repair, or spray a new finish across the whole tray.
  5. We leave it to cure; the shower is generally usable the next day.

Preparing for the visit

Should you replace it?

A new tray can be cheap, but fitting it is not: removing the screen, breaking out tiles, relaying the base and re-tiling. Repairing it takes one visit. Prices start from £95. We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Tregele. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

What you get with us

  • Most jobs done in one visit

Keeping it looking good

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Check the seal every few months
  • Use the extractor fan
  • Rinse the tray after each shower
  • Keep harsh chemicals off the tray

Give the repair its full curing time before showering. After that, gentle cleaning and good ventilation keep it in good shape.

Stop using the shower if the tray is cracked. Water can get through to the floor and walls, where it causes damage you cannot see.
