Tile repair in Aberffraw

Work for landlords and builders

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

How we handle tile repair in Aberffraw

The tile stays where it is, so there is no need to hunt for a matching tile. If a tile moves, it may need relaying first, and we will say so. We regularly repair floor and wall tiles, natural stone & granite and marble, and the jobs we see most are cracked floor tiles and damaged tile edges.

You’re covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before booking. Avoid dropping heavy items on repaired floor tiles, and use a pH-neutral cleaner.

What tile repair costs

Prices start from £95. There’s no charge for travel to Aberffraw. The price comes down to:

  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • The material and finish

Rather than charging by the hour, we price the whole job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Quotes from your pictures

Most quotes are done from photos alone. To make it quick:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A photo taken from further back
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Where you are, by postcode

For most jobs, pictures are all we need to give you a price. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

Choosing a repair company

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a tile involves breaking out the old tile, tracking down a matching tile and possibly cracking its neighbours. A repair keeps the original tile. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send pictures and you’ll get a fixed figure.

Why us?

  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • Free fixed quotes from pictures
  • We’ll tell you if it’s not worth repairing

Can I fix it myself?

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

Aberffraw: your questions answered

Is my repair covered?

Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work and until it has cured. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

Can you quote from photos?

Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.

What happens once I’ve sent pictures?

You get a fixed quote and available dates. If anything’s unclear, we’ll ask for another photo.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Normally, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We will tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

Will the price change on the day?

If we find something the photos didn’t show, we explain it first. You decide whether to go ahead.

Is it messy?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.

Are you accredited?

We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

What we can’t put right

Some jobs aren’t right for a repair, including:

  • Loose or hollow tiles that need relaying
  • Cracks caused by a moving floor, until the floor is fixed
  • Whole walls of failing grout

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

What we work on

  • Marble
  • Porcelain tiles
  • Natural stone & granite
  • Ceramic tiles
  • Floor and wall tiles

How it works

On the day, we arrive at the time we have agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job normally takes a few hours. We clean up when we are done and let you know when you can use it again.

  1. We clean the tile and remove loose fragments.
  2. Next we fill the damage.
  3. We level and shape the repair to the tile surface.
  4. We match the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. We seal the repair to suit the finish of the tile.

Before we arrive

  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Point us to the nearest place to park
