Our hiring checklist

Tile repair in Egypt, done in place

The tile stays where it is, so there is no need to hunt for a matching tile. A loose or rocking tile may need relaying first, and we will say so. Whether it’s damaged tile edges and drill holes from removed fittings, we can help, whatever the material.

You’re covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before you book. Avoid dropping heavy items on repaired floor tiles, and clean with a pH-neutral cleaner.

How it works

The work is clean and fairly quiet. We protect the area first, then the work takes a morning or an afternoon. Before we leave, we explain the curing time and the aftercare.

  1. We start by cleaning the tile and clearing loose fragments.
  2. We fill the chip, crack or hole.
  3. The repair is levelled to the tile surface.
  4. The colour and pattern are recreated by hand.
  5. Finally we seal it to match the tile.

Before we arrive

Advice

Work for landlords and builders

Letting agents often send us pictures straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

For anyone letting property in or around Egypt, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Send pictures for each one and we will come back with a combined price.

What tile repair costs

Prices start from £95. Every quote is fixed and free. What we take into account:

  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • How much damage there is

There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Getting a price from photos

Good photos mean an accurate price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • One picture of the entire tiled area
  • Any details about the material
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit

To get a price, send a couple of photos using our quote form or call us. We will say right away whether it can be repaired.

When we’d advise against a repair

Before you book, it’s worth knowing the limits:

  • Loose or hollow tiles that need relaying
  • Cracks caused by a moving floor, until the floor is fixed
  • Whole walls of failing grout

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before you book.

What we work on

  • Natural stone & granite
  • Marble
  • Floor and wall tiles
  • Ceramic tiles
  • Porcelain tiles

Should I try a DIY kit first?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

Repair or replace in Egypt?

Swapping out a damaged tile involves breaking out the old tile, finding a match and risking the tiles around it. A repair leaves the tile where it is. Our tile repair starts from £95. We charge the same wherever you are, so there is no premium for Egypt. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.
