Tile repair for Long Line homes

Tile repair at your home in Long Line

A loose or rocking tile may need relaying first, and we’ll say so. We repair the tile in place, so you do not need to find a spare. Typical jobs include discontinued tiles you can’t replace and damaged tile edges, in floor and wall tiles, natural stone & granite and marble.

Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do. Take care with heavy items on repaired tiles, and clean with a pH-neutral cleaner.

What happens on the day

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive at the agreed slot, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and clear up. Allow a few hours. Before leaving, we tell you when it can be used and how to care for it.

  1. We clean the tile and remove loose fragments.
  2. The chip, crack or hole is filled.
  3. We level and shape the repair to the tile surface.
  4. We match the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. Finally we seal it to match the tile.

Before we arrive

  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Let us know about parking or access

FAQs for Long Line

What areas do you cover?

The whole UK, including all of Sheffield. Just include your postcode and we will offer you dates.

What happens if you find more damage?

We will show you and explain before doing anything extra. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?

Yes, we often do. Removing the old work can add time, and that is in the quote.

Can you quote from pictures?

Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures can’t show what we need.

What about drill holes in tiles?

Yes. Drill holes from old rails and shelves are a common job.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Usually, when the rest is in good condition. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.

Can tenants book a repair?

Yes. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes, frequently. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

When a repair is not the answer

A repair is not always the answer, and we will tell you before we start. We can’t fix:

  • Loose or hollow tiles that need relaying
  • Cracks caused by a moving floor, until the floor is fixed
  • Whole walls of failing grout

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly.

What we work on

  • Ceramic tiles
  • Porcelain tiles
  • Natural stone & granite
  • Floor and wall tiles
  • Marble

Work for landlords and builders

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

Letting agents frequently send us photos straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a tile involves breaking out the old tile, finding a match and possibly cracking its neighbours. A repair leaves the tile where it is. Prices start from £95. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. You’ll see the full price before you book.

Why book with us

  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
  • Everything repaired in place
  • We leave the room as we found it
  • Fixed prices from your photos

See our prices page.

How we price tile repair

Prices start from £95. Prices are worked out job by job, from your photos. What matters most is:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • The material
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Doing more than one item at once

Rather than charging by the hour, we price the whole job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Getting a price from pictures

Phone pictures are fine. Just ensure we can see:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • One picture of the entire tiled area
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

For most jobs, photos are all we need to give you a price. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.
