What a repair can’t fix

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • Loose or hollow tiles that need relaying
  • Cracks caused by a moving floor, until the floor is fixed
  • Whole walls of failing grout

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Marble
  • Natural stone & granite
  • Ceramic tiles
  • Floor and wall tiles
  • Porcelain tiles

How we handle tile repair in Mossend

We repair the tile in place, so you don’t need to find a spare. A loose or rocking tile may need relaying first, and we will tell you. Common call-outs are for discontinued tiles you can’t replace and drill holes from removed fittings, in floor and wall tiles, marble and natural stone & granite.

Every job is backed for twelve months. We return to put right any problem with the work. Avoid dropping heavy items on repaired floor tiles, and use a pH-neutral cleaner.

FAQs for Mossend

What areas do you cover?

All of North Lanarkshire, and the rest of the UK. There’s no extra charge for travel.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

We come back with a fixed quote. You’re under no obligation.

Do I have to be there?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. You do not need to watch us work.

Can you quote from pictures?

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures can’t show what we need.

Is the work guaranteed?

All our work carries our one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.

Can you repair something that is been repaired before?

Yes, regularly. Removing the old work can add time, and that’s in the quote.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. You decide whether to go ahead.

Is a repair better than a new one?

In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.

What affects the price in Mossend

Repairs from £95. There is no charge for travel to Mossend. The price comes down to:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • How much damage there is

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. The full price is agreed before booking, with no extras added later.

How to get a fixed quote

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what to send:

  • One picture of the whole tiled area
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection

You don’t need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.

How it works

You don’t need to empty the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and get going once we have agreed what we’re doing. It normally takes a few hours, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.

  1. We clean the tile and remove loose fragments.
  2. Next we fill the damage.
  3. We level and shape the repair to the tile surface.
  4. The colour and pattern are recreated by hand.
  5. We seal the repair to suit the finish of the tile.

Before we arrive

  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Point us to the nearest place to park

Ask for a price

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a tile means breaking it out, tracking down a matching tile and possibly cracking its neighbours. A repair leaves the tile where it is. Prices start from £95. No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

What you get with us

  • Repair technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • No extra charge for your area
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
  • We leave the room as we found it

Can I fix it myself?

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.
