Tile repair near Smarden Bell

Tile repair in Smarden Bell, done in place

The tile stays where it is, so there’s no need to hunt for a matching tile. A loose or rocking tile may need relaying first, and we’ll tell you. Typical jobs include discontinued tiles you can’t replace and chips from dropped pans and tools, on floor and wall tiles, ceramic tiles and natural stone & granite.

You are covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote. Avoid dropping heavy items on repaired floor tiles, and clean with a pH-neutral cleaner.

FAQs for Smarden Bell

Can you fill holes left by old fittings?

Yes. Drill holes from old rails and shelves are a common job.

Is a repair better than a new one?

In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it isn’t worth repairing, we’ll tell you.

Is there any odour?

A little, depending on the job. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum, and it soon fades.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

In nearly every case. If pictures do not show enough, we will ask for another angle.

What does tile repair cost?

Prices start from £95. Because every job differs, we price from photos. You will get a fixed figure before booking.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.

Are you accredited?

We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Do you do work for letting agents?

We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

Our hiring checklist

What affects the price in Smarden Bell

Prices start from £95. A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We look at:

  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • The material
  • Access to the area

A repair usually costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send pictures and we will give you the exact figure.

How to get a fixed price

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. Try to include:

  • A wider photo showing the entire tiled area
  • Details of any past repairs
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Something in shot to show the size

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the tiled area, add your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

Should you replace it?

Swapping out a damaged tile involves breaking out the old tile, finding a match and possibly cracking its neighbours. A repair keeps the original tile. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

What we do, step by step

We agree an arrival time beforehand, so you’re not left guessing. Once we’re there, the work takes a few hours for most jobs. We leave the room clean.

  1. We start by cleaning the tile and clearing loose fragments.
  2. We fill the chip, crack or hole.
  3. The repair is levelled to the tile surface.
  4. We recreate the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. We seal the repair to suit the finish of the tile.

Preparing for the visit

  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

Getting a price

Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them to us with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price. There is no charge for the quote and no obligation.
