Toilet chip repair near Raby

Toilet chip repair at your home in Raby

Chips are rebuilt and colour matched to the glaze, so you do not need a plumber or a new toilet. A crack that leaks can’t be fixed with a cosmetic repair, and we’ll tell you if that’s what we find. Our technicians work on pedestals, vitreous china and cisterns & lids, and common reasons people get in touch are chips on the pan or rim and marks on the outside of the pan.

All our work comes with a one-year guarantee. Take care with heavy items and use non-abrasive cleaners on the outside of the pan and cistern.

Can I fix it myself?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

What happens on the day

You do not need to empty the room beforehand. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we have agreed what we are doing. It generally takes an hour or two, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. First the damaged area is cleaned and dried.
  2. We fill and rebuild missing material to the original shape.
  3. We sand the repair level.
  4. We match the colour to the glaze.
  5. The repair is polished so it blends in.

Before we arrive

  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing

Repair or replace: which is better?

A new toilet means a plumber and sometimes new flooring around the pan, and the matching cistern may be discontinued. A repair keeps the toilet you have. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. You will see the full price before you book, with nothing added on the day.

Why book with us

What do you need from me?

A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

Yes. We repair chips on pans, rims, cisterns and lids.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote and the next dates we have.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. There is no area surcharge for Raby. What changes the price is:

  • Access to the area
  • The type of damage
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • The material

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send pictures and you will get a fixed figure.

Getting a price from photos

Good photos mean an accurate price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • Any details about the material
  • One picture of the whole toilet
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area

To get a price, send two or three pictures through our quote form or call us. We will tell you honestly if a repair is the right fix.

Common problems we fix in Raby

Toilets and cisterns generally get chipped during fitting, or from a dropped lid or bottle. Cistern lids get chipped surprisingly often.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • Pieces knocked off during fitting
  • Chips on the pan or rim
  • Damage from dropped items
  • Chips on the cistern lid

What your quote should include

  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show
  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
