How we handle toilet chip repair in Trinity
A crack that leaks cannot be fixed with a cosmetic repair, and we’ll say so if we find one. Chips are rebuilt and colour-matched to the glaze, so the toilet stays in place. We regularly repair toilet pans, porcelain and vitreous china, and common reasons people get in touch are marks on the outside of the pan and pieces knocked off during fitting.
Every job is backed for twelve months. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back. Take care with heavy items and use non-abrasive cleaners on the outside of the pan and cistern.

Trinity: your questions answered
What happens once I’ve sent photos?
You get a fixed quote and available dates. If we need another angle, we’ll ask.
Do the materials smell?
There may be a mild smell during the work that clears as it cures.
What does toilet chip repair cost?
Prices start from £95. Because every job differs, we price from photos. You know the full cost before anything is booked.
Can you fix a cracked toilet that leaks?
No. That needs a new toilet. We repair cosmetic chips and breaks.
Will the price change on the day?
We will show you and explain before doing anything extra. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.
Is a repair better than a new one?
Normally, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we will say so.
Can pets and children be at home?
Just keep them out of the work area. We will tell you when the room can be used again.
Can a chipped toilet be fixed?
Yes. Chips to the pan, rim, cistern and lid are the most common jobs.
Should I try a DIY kit first?
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.
How it works
We work cleanly and quietly, so you can carry on at home. We protect the area first, then the job itself takes one to two hours. At the end we talk you through the curing time and the aftercare.
- First the damaged area is cleaned and dried.
- Next we rebuild the missing piece to its original shape.
- We sand it flush.
- We colour-match and finish the glaze.
- The repair is polished so it blends in.
Preparing for the visit
- Open a window if you can
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
- Let us know about parking or access
Getting a price
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the toilet, include your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.
Advice
Repair or replace: which is better?
A new toilet means a plumber and sometimes new flooring around the pan, and the matching cistern may be discontinued. A repair keeps the toilet you have. Prices start from £95. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Prices and what affects them
Prices start from £95. We do not charge extra for travel to Trinity. The price comes down to:
- Doing more than one item at once
- The size and number of damaged areas
- The material and finish
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
How to get a fixed quote
Good photos mean an accurate price. Here’s what we find most useful:
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- Natural light rather than flash
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the whole toilet, we can price the job the same day in most cases.
