When we would advise against a repair

We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair won’t do:

  • Failed or misted double glazing units
  • Broken locks, hinges or mechanisms
  • Frames that are warped or out of square

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before booking.

What we work on

  • Doors & door panels
  • White uPVC
  • Conservatory frames
  • Coloured and woodgrain uPVC
  • Window frames & sills

Do you need uPVC repair in Criddlestyle?

uPVC is hard-wearing, but it does get damaged: ladders, tools and building work scratch and chip it, candles and cigarettes mark sills, and removed fittings leave holes.

People usually call us after spotting something like this:

  • Damage during building work
  • Burns on sills
  • Scratches from ladders and furniture
  • Holes from removed fittings and alarms

Questions to ask before booking

  • What protection goes down before work starts
  • How soon you can use it again
  • Whether they match the colour on site
  • How changes to the job are handled

10 questions to ask before booking

Why repair rather than replace?

A new window, door or sill costs far more, and new uPVC may not match the weathered frames around it. A repair keeps the original. Prices start from £95. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

What you get with us

  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • One-year guarantee on every repair
  • Fixed prices from your pictures
  • Work done at your home or business

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including Criddlestyle. The price reflects:

  • The type of damage
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • How many areas need work

Set against the cost of replacement, repairing normally costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.

How to get a fixed quote

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:

  • Details of any past repairs
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • One picture of the entire window, door or sill
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the window, door or sill, include your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

Work for landlords and builders

We are used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, photos and access details and we will handle the rest.

If you manage property in Criddlestyle, we’ll quote for several properties at once. Just send pictures for each address and we’ll price them together.

Questions from Criddlestyle

Do you come to Criddlestyle?

We do. Technicians travel to Criddlestyle from across the region, with no extra charge for travel.

Is there a guarantee?

Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

What if the damage is worse than the photos show?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit generally costs less than separate visits. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.

Can you match woodgrain uPVC?

Yes. Colour and grain are matched by hand.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.

The process

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we have agreed what we are doing. It usually takes a morning or an afternoon, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. First the frame or panel is cleaned.
  2. Next we fill the damage.
  3. We sand the repair smooth.
  4. We match the colour, including woodgrain finishes.
  5. We blend the repair into the surrounding surface.

How to prepare

  • Open a window if you can
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

Get a quote

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the whole window, door or sill, we can price the job the same day in most cases.

Can I fix it myself?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair won’t last.
