About our uPVC repair in Kaimes

We also do snagging repairs for builders. We fill and refinish the damage to match the frame, including woodgrain finishes. We regularly repair window frames & sills, conservatory frames and coloured and woodgrain uPVC, and the jobs we see most are holes from removed fittings and alarms and scratches from ladders and furniture.

All our work is covered by a one-year guarantee. Warm soapy water and a soft cloth are all it needs. Avoid solvents and abrasive cleaners.

Work for landlords and builders

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, putting right damage done during fitting. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

When we would advise against a repair

We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair will not do:

  • Failed or misted double glazing units
  • Broken locks, hinges or mechanisms
  • Frames that are warped or out of square

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

What we work on

  • Window frames & sills
  • Conservatory frames
  • Doors & door panels
  • Coloured and woodgrain uPVC
  • White uPVC

Questions from Kaimes

What happens if you find more damage?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

What information do you need?

Some pictures, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, access to the room.

Do you do work for letting agents?

We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it isn’t worth repairing, we’ll tell you.

What areas do you cover?

Everywhere in the UK, Kaimes included. Travel is included in the price.

Is there a call-out fee?

No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.

Can a burnt window sill be fixed?

Yes. We fill and refinish the burnt area to match.

Are you accredited?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

How the visit works

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and start once you’re happy with the plan. It normally takes a few hours, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. First the frame or panel is cleaned.
  2. Scratches, chips and holes are filled.
  3. The repair is sanded smooth.
  4. We match the colour, including woodgrain finishes.
  5. We blend the repair into the surrounding surface.

How to prepare

  • Make sure the area is dry
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing

How to get a price

Upload a photo of the damage and one of the whole item, and tell us you are in Kaimes, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.

What affects the price in Kaimes

Prices start from £95. We price every job individually. The main factors are:

  • How many areas need work
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • The material

A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.

Getting a price from photos

The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • One picture of the whole window, door or sill
  • Something in shot to show the size

We price from pictures so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and we will come back with a fixed figure.

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing the frame or sill costs far more, and it may not match the rest after years of weathering. A repair keeps the original. Our uPVC repair starts from £95. Compared with replacing, repairing usually costs far less, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.

Why Kaimes clients choose us

  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • Honest advice, even when it means no job
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.
