How we price uPVC repair

Prices start from £95. We don’t charge extra for travel to The Rookery. The price comes down to:

  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • The material and finish
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • How hard the colour is to match

We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for The Rookery. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Good pictures mean an accurate price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Any details about the material
  • One picture of the whole window, door or sill

If you’re in The Rookery and want a price, the easiest route is pictures: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. You will get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.

What we cannot put right

We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair can’t fix:

  • Failed or misted double glazing units
  • Broken locks, hinges or mechanisms
  • Frames that are warped or out of square

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Window frames & sills

What we are called out for in The Rookery

uPVC is tough but not indestructible: ladders and building work leave scratches and chips, candles and cigarettes mark sills, and removed fittings leave holes.

If you can see any of these, send us a photo:

  • Burns on sills
  • Holes from removed fittings and alarms
  • Chips and dents
  • Damage during building work

What we do, step by step

On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we will take it from there. The job generally runs to a few hours.

  1. First the frame or panel is cleaned.
  2. We fill scratches, chips and holes.
  3. We smooth the repair.
  4. We colour-match the finish, including woodgrain effects.
  5. The repair is blended into the surface around it.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Open a window if you can
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

How to get a price

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and we’ll come back with a fixed figure.

Repairing versus replacing in The Rookery

A new window, door or sill is a much bigger job, and new uPVC may not match the weathered frames around it. Repairing the damage keeps the original. Prices start from £95. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.
