Should you replace it?

An identical replacement may look different next to aged worktops. A repair is matched to what you have now. Our worktop repair starts from £95. Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Banbridge questions

Is it messy?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.

Do you work in Banbridge?

We do. We send a technician to Banbridge for every job, with no extra charge for travel.

Which areas do you work in?

We work UK-wide. Our prices are the same everywhere.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Just ensure the landlord agrees.

Will the price change on the day?

If we find something the pictures didn’t show, we explain it first. The price only changes if you agree.

Can a quartz edge be fixed?

Yes. The repair is colour matched and polished to the quartz’s finish.

Do I need to empty the worktop?

Just clear the area around the damage. We protect the rest of the kitchen.

Can you price it without visiting?

Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the photos can’t show what we need.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including Banbridge. The price reflects:

  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • The colour and finish to match
  • The type of damage
  • How many items we do on one visit

We don’t add extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Quotes from your pictures

Most quotes are done from photos alone. To make it quick:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • The material, if you know it
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the entire worktop, we can price the job without visiting.

Honest limits

To be straight with you, there are a few things a repair won’t fix:

  • Through cracks in stone that is moving
  • Discolouration deep in quartz
  • Laminate swollen by water from underneath

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

What we work on

  • Solid wood
  • Quartz
  • Granite & marble
  • Laminate
  • Solid surface (such as Corian)

How the visit works

On the day, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job typically takes a few hours, depending on the damage. We clean up when we are done and let you know when you can use it again.

  1. First, we check the damage and the finish we need to match.
  2. Burnt or loose material is cut back.
  3. We fill and shape the damaged area.
  4. The pattern, flecks or grain are recreated.
  5. It’s finished to the same sheen and left to cure.

Before we arrive

  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children

Aftercare tips

Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:

  • Never put hot pans down directly
  • Watch the edges with heavy pans
  • Oil wooden tops regularly
  • Keep joints and edges dry

Use chopping boards and trivets, wipe up spills promptly, and keep wooden tops oiled.

A burn or chip can get worse with daily use particularly around the sink. An earlier repair is a smaller repair.

For landlords and businesses

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.

  • Chipped corners
  • Snagging damage in a new kitchen
  • A chipped quartz edge
