Worktop repair in Bonhill

About our worktop repair in Bonhill

We repair worktops in place, with the rest of the kitchen protected. Most repairs take a few hours, and the worktop can be used again soon after. Common call-outs are for snagging damage in a new kitchen and chips on edges and corners, on quartz, granite & marble and solid surface (such as Corian).

Peace of mind is built in: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we will explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

Looking after it afterwards

Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. These habits help:

  • Oil wooden tops regularly
  • Use a chopping board
  • Clean spills straight away
  • Always use a trivet for hot pans

Never put hot pans straight onto the worktop. Even stone and quartz can be marked by heat.

Daily use can make burns and chips worse. An earlier repair is a smaller repair.

FAQs for Bonhill

Are there extra charges for Bonhill?

We don’t add a call-out fee. Your fixed quote includes everything.

Is there a guarantee?

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

Can you match the pattern on my worktop?

Colour, flecks and veins are recreated by hand, so the repair blends into the surface.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit generally costs less than separate visits. Include photos of each item.

Will it make a mess?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and we clean up when we have finished.

Do you come to Bonhill?

Yes. We cover the entire UK and come to Bonhill. Send pictures and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

What do you need from me?

Can tenants book a repair?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Just make sure the landlord agrees.

What worktop repair costs

Repairs from £95. Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • What kind of damage it is
  • How much damage there is
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Access to the area

Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Send pictures for a quote

Most quotes are done from pictures alone. To help us price it:

  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • One picture of the whole worktop
  • Any details about the material

Most customers in Bonhill get their price from pictures. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we’ll send back a fixed quote and some dates.

Repairs by material

Laminate

Laminate is a printed surface over a board. We fill the damage and recreate the pattern by hand.

Granite and stone

Granite and stone chip at edges and cut-outs. We fill and polish the repair to match the stone.

Should you replace it?

Even if you could get the same laminate, it may not match after years of light and use. We match the repair to your worktop as it is today. Prices start from £95. The price depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Why us?

  • CHAS and Constructionline accredited
  • One-year guarantee on every repair
  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • Honest advice, even when it means no job

Can I fix it myself?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

What a repair can’t fix

It helps to know what we cannot do too:

  • Through cracks in stone that is moving
  • A worktop that has moved because its support has failed
  • Deep heat discolouration in quartz, which may not fully disappear

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before booking.

What we work on

  • Quartz
  • Granite & marble
  • Solid wood
  • Laminate
  • Solid surface (such as Corian)

What we do, step by step

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive on time, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and clear up. Allow a few hours, depending on the damage. Before leaving, we tell you when it can be used and how to care for it.

  1. We look at the damage and the worktop’s finish.
  2. Burnt or loose material is cut back.
  3. The area is filled and shaped.
  4. We recreate the pattern, flecks or grain.
  5. We finish it to match the sheen and leave it to cure.

How to prepare

  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
