Trusted worktop repair in Brookhay

Worktop repair in Brookhay, done in place

Worktops are expensive to replace and hard to match, particularly where several lengths join. Repairing the damage keeps your kitchen as it is. We regularly repair solid surface (such as Corian), quartz and granite & marble, and the jobs we see most are knife marks and gouges in the surface.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you’re covered after the visit.

For landlords and businesses

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Staffordshire and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Brookhay as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it usually costs far less than a refit.

How to look after the repair

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Wipe up spills quickly
  • Keep joints and edges dry
  • Chopping boards prevent scratches
  • Watch the edges with heavy pans

Keep joints and the sink edge dry, especially on laminate and wood.

Daily use can make burns and chips worse, especially near the sink. Repairing it sooner keeps the job smaller.

What we can’t put right

To be straight with you, there are a few things a repair will not fix:

  • Cracks right through stone that has moved
  • A top that moves on its units
  • Deep heat discolouration in quartz, which may not fully disappear

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. There is no area surcharge for Brookhay. What changes the price is:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • How many areas need work
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

Compared with replacing, repairing generally costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Send photos for a quote

Photographing the damage takes a minute. Try to send:

  • Any details about the material
  • Details of any past repairs
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Something in shot to show the size

For most jobs, photos are all we need to give you a price. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

Brookhay: your questions answered

Can you price it without visiting?

Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures cannot show what we need.

How soon can you come?

That depends on our diary for your area. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.

Do the materials smell?

There can be some smell while we work, which is why we ventilate. It fades as everything cures.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Normally, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids removal and making good. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

Do I have to be there?

We need someone to let us in. After that, you can carry on with your day.

Can you repair something that is been repaired before?

Generally, yes. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so let us know about it.

Is a burnt worktop repairable?

Typically, yes. The burn is cut back, filled and patterned to match.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

We look at the pictures and reply with a fixed quote and some dates. If anything’s unclear, we’ll ask for another photo.

Repair or replace: which is better?

A new worktop means removing the old one, templating and fitting a replacement and refitting the sink and hob, and matching the rest of the kitchen can be hard. A repair leaves the worktop in place. Our worktop repair starts from £95. No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Different materials, different repairs

Laminate

Laminate is a printed surface bonded to a board. We fill damage and paint in the pattern by hand.

Granite and stone

Natural stone worktops chip at edges and around cut-outs. We fill and polish the repair to match the stone.

What happens on the day

We begin by going over the job with you, so there are no surprises. Next, we cover and mask everything nearby and the work begins. You can expect it to take a few hours, depending on the damage, and we will keep you posted as we go.

  1. We protect the rest of the kitchen.
  2. We clean the damage and remove anything loose.
  3. It’s filled and levelled with the surface.
  4. The colour and pattern are built up by hand.
  5. The repair is sealed and polished to match.
