Worktop repair near Clifton

For landlords and businesses

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Clifton as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.

For anyone letting property in or around Clifton, we will quote for several properties at once. Just send pictures for each address and we will come back with a combined price.

Worktop repair in Clifton, done in place

The hard part of a worktop repair is matching the pattern. We build up the colour and flecks by hand so the repair blends in. We’re often asked to fix a heat mark or burn and snagging damage in a new kitchen, on solid surface (such as Corian), granite & marble and solid wood.

You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything is not right, ring us and we will sort it.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including Clifton. What changes the price is:

  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • How many areas need work
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Clifton. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Send pictures for a quote

Phone photos are fine. Ensure they show:

  • A photo taken from further back
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Any details about the material

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the whole worktop, add your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

Repairs by material

Quartz

Quartz is tough, though edges can chip. Chips are filled with tinted resin and polished to the worktop’s finish.

Granite and stone

Granite and stone chip at edges and cut-outs. The repair is filled and polished to the stone’s finish.

How to look after the repair

Looking after the surface is easy, and it makes a real difference:

  • Always use a trivet for hot pans
  • Use pH-neutral cleaners on stone
  • Use a chopping board
  • Re-oil timber worktops

Hot pans should always go on a trivet. Heat can mark quartz and stone as well.

Don’t leave damage by the sink, because water gets in and swells the board.

How the visit works

On the day, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job normally takes a few hours. We clean up when we are done and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. We assess the damage and the worktop material.
  2. The area is cleaned and the edges of the damage prepared.
  3. We fill with a filler suited to the material and rebuild any missing edge.
  4. We recreate the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. Finally we seal or finish the area to match.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children

How to get a price

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through.

Advice

Clifton: your questions answered

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.

Do I need to clear the kitchen?

Just clear the area around the damage. We protect the rest of the kitchen.

Will the price change on the day?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. The price only changes if you agree.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Usually, yes. We remove the old repair before doing a new one.

Is my repair covered?

Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.

What happens after I send photos?

We review the pictures and send a fixed quote and the next dates we have.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include pictures of each item.

Will there be a smell?

It depends on the job, but frequently a little. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum.

Can I fix it myself?

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.
