Worktop repair for Hawbridge homes

Work for landlords and builders

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Hawbridge as well as householders. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it usually costs far less than a refit.

Worktop repair in Hawbridge without replacing anything

Different worktops need different repairs: we fill and pattern laminate, fill and polish quartz and stone, and sand and refinish wood. We always aim for a repair that blends in. Whether it’s a damaged sink edge and scorch marks from pans, we can usually put it right, on granite & marble, quartz and solid wood alike.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we will come back.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Stone and quartz have to be templated and cut, so replacing one section is a big job. A repair takes a few hours. Prices start from £95. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Why Hawbridge customers choose us

  • Every repair guaranteed for a year
  • A fixed quote before booking
  • Straight answers about what a repair can do
  • Generally one visit, start to finish

Common questions in Hawbridge

Can tenants book a repair?

Of course. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

In most cases. The old repair comes out first.

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Do you charge for travel?

Travel is included in the price, and we charge the same wherever you are.

Do you cover the entire of Worcestershire?

We cover the entire UK, including Hawbridge and the rest of Worcestershire. Just include your postcode and we’ll confirm dates.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Of course, and it usually saves money. Just add the extra items to your pictures and you’ll get one combined price.

Will the price change on the day?

Your quote covers the damage in the pictures. If there’s more, we will tell you before starting.

Do you come to Hawbridge?

Yes. We work across the UK and come to Hawbridge. Send photos and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

What we do, step by step

Once we are through the door, we keep the work contained to the one room. We mask off everything nearby, the work takes a few hours, depending on the damage, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. We protect the rest of the kitchen.
  2. The damage is cleaned and any loose material removed.
  3. We fill it and level it with the worktop.
  4. The colour and pattern are built up by hand.
  5. We seal and polish it to the right sheen.

Preparing for the visit

  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Open a window if you can

Advice

Can I fix it myself?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we take into account:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • The type of damage
  • What the surface is made of
  • How hard the colour is to match

The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. The full price is agreed before you book.

Getting a price from photos

Phone photos are fine, there’s no need for anything special. Ensure they show:

  • The material, if you know it
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • A wider photo showing the whole worktop
  • Natural light rather than flash

Send us pictures of the damage and one of the entire item, with your WR7 postcode, and we will come back with a fixed quote.

When a repair isn’t the answer

To be straight with you, there are a few things a repair will not fix:

  • Severe heat marks in quartz
  • Laminate swollen by water from underneath
  • A cracked stone top that’s unsupported

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before you book.

What we work on

  • Granite & marble
  • Solid wood
  • Quartz
  • Laminate
  • Solid surface (such as Corian)

When to call us in Hawbridge

Worktops take more punishment than anything else in the kitchen. Hot pans scorch, knives cut, and edges chip when heavy pans or tins hit them.

The most common problems we’re called about are:

  • A chipped edge
  • Knife marks
  • Burns from hot pans
  • Chips in quartz or granite

What your quote should include

  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
  • What aftercare is recommended
  • The length of the guarantee and what it covers

How to look after the repair

Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. These habits help:

  • Oil wooden tops regularly
  • Take care with heavy pans near edges
  • Clean spills right away
  • Avoid harsh chemicals on stone and quartz

Leave the repaired area free of hot or heavy items until it has cured. After that, trivets and chopping boards are your best protection.

A burn or chip can get worse with daily use particularly around the sink. An earlier repair is a smaller repair.
