The process
A typical visit goes like this: we arrive on time, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and tidy away. Allow a few hours from start to finish. Before we go, we’ll explain when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.
- First, we check the damage and the finish we need to match.
- We cut back any burnt or loose material.
- The area is filled and shaped.
- The pattern, flecks or grain are recreated.
- It’s finished to the same sheen and left to cure.
Preparing for the visit
- Clear the area around the damage
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
- Let the surface dry out before the visit

When a repair is not the answer
A repair isn’t always the answer, and we would rather say so up front. Repairs will not solve:
- Discolouration deep in quartz
- A worktop that has moved because its support has failed
- Through cracks in stone that is moving
Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before booking.
Surfaces we repair
- Laminate
- Solid wood
- Quartz
- Granite & marble
- Solid surface (such as Corian)
Should you replace it?
Stone and quartz have to be templated and cut, so replacing one section is a big job. Repairing it is a few hours’ work. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. The price depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed quote from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

Your questions about worktop repair in Killingbeck
Do you cover Killingbeck?
Yes. We work across the UK and travel to Killingbeck and the rest of Leeds. Send photos and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
Can I add another job to the visit?
Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.
Can you redo someone else’s repair?
In most cases. The old repair comes out first, so let us know about it.
Is the work guaranteed?
Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.
Can you repair a burn in a worktop?
Often, yes. We remove the damaged surface, fill it and recreate the pattern.
Do I need to be at home?
Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. After that, you can carry on with your day.
Is there any odour?
Expect a mild smell while we are working.
I’m a tenant. Can you help?
We’re happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Just ensure the landlord agrees.
Prices and what affects them
Repairs from £95. We don’t charge extra for travel to Killingbeck. The price depends on:
- Unusual colours or finishes
- The material
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- What kind of damage it is
Our prices are the same across the UK, so there is no premium for Killingbeck. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.
Send photos for a quote
Good photos mean an accurate price. Here’s what helps:
- A photo taken from further back
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- The material, if you know it
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us pictures through the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can give you a fixed price the same day in most cases.
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Laminate
Laminate is a printed surface bonded to a board. Damage is filled and the pattern painted in by hand.
Granite and stone
Granite and stone chip at edges and cut-outs. We fill and polish the repair to match the stone.
Should I try a DIY kit first?
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
How to look after the repair
Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:
- Wipe up spills quickly
- Oil wooden tops regularly
- Use pH-neutral cleaners on stone
- Always use a trivet for hot pans
Keep joints and the sink edge dry, particularly with laminate and timber.
A burn or chip can get worse with daily use, especially near the sink. An earlier repair is a smaller repair.
