Worktop repair at your home in Rhynie

The hard part of a worktop repair is matching the pattern. We build up the colour and flecks by hand so the repair blends in. Common call-outs are for a damaged sink edge and cuts and scratches in the surface, across laminate, quartz and solid surface (such as Corian).

The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there is a problem and we’ll sort it.

Work for landlords and builders

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

Hospitality businesses cannot afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.

What your worktop is made of matters

Wood

Timber tops can be sanded and refinished, and burns and dents repaired.

Solid surface

Solid surface tops are the same material all the way through, so scratches and burns can often be sanded out and refinished.

Looking after it afterwards

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Never put hot pans down directly
  • Don’t leave spills to soak in
  • Don’t knock pans against the edge
  • Use a chopping board

Keep joints and the sink edge dry, particularly with laminate and timber.

Daily use can make burns and chips worse. Repairing it sooner keeps the job smaller.

Questions from Rhynie

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. The price only changes if you agree.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Yes, we often do. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.

Is it messy?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.

Is a burnt worktop repairable?

Generally, yes. The burn is cut back, filled and patterned to match.

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Usually, when the rest is in good condition. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we will say so.

Do I need to empty the worktop?

Only the area we’re working on. We protect the rest of the kitchen.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing even one length of worktop means templating, cutting, fitting and often a new sink and hob connection. A repair is a few hours with everything left in place. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. The price depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed quote from your photos, so you know the cost before you book.

What we do, step by step

We turn up at the time we agreed with you and checks the damage against your pictures first. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before we open a single tin. Most visits take a few hours, depending on the damage, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. We protect the rest of the kitchen.
  2. The damage is cleaned and any loose material removed.
  3. We fill it and level it with the worktop.
  4. We recreate the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. We seal and polish it to the right sheen.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

A repair isn’t always the answer, and we will tell you before we start. Repairs will not solve:

  • Discolouration deep in quartz
  • Failed support under the worktop
  • Laminate that has blown or swollen

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Do you need worktop repair in Rhynie?

Most worktop damage takes a second: a hot pan put down without a trivet, or a heavy pan knocked against the edge. Scratches build up gradually from knives and grit.

Send us a picture if you notice any of these:

  • Chips caused during installation
  • A dent from a dropped pan
  • Knife marks
  • A chipped quartz edge

Questions to ask before you book

  • What prep work is covered
  • Aftercare advice
  • A fixed price, and whether VAT is included
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match

Our hiring checklist

Should I try a DIY kit first?

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is typically the cheaper route.
